United in Purpose for Christ

Sermons – St. John's Lutheran Church of Highland

Today in our second lesson from First Corinthians, the first chapter, we hear Paul reminding his fellow Christians to be united in mind and purpose. At our best the Christian Church should be able to be united in our call to love God and love our neighbor, to proclaim the Gospel and see the message about the cross as the power of God. There are many ways that we are doing this already – thanks be to God, but there will always be more that can be done until the kingdom reaches its fullness. May the Spirit continue to work in our midst, so that the world might better know and experience the Christian Church in all its forms as a united Body in their purpose of proclaiming and living out the Christ’s Gospel of love.

1 Corinthians 1:10-18
