In the 1600's, roughly 200 people were accused of being a witch or participating in witchcraft. They were arrested and put up on trial. They were put through many disturbing tests to see if they were actually a witch or not and some of the tests they were put through were unbelievably terrifying. Lets all be thankful that we no longer live in them days.

In the 1800s, if you were born with a deformity or an illness that caused you to look a little different others, then you was classed as a freak. 
One guy, called P.T Barnum ‘collected’ these ‘freaks’ and put them on public display and people paid to see these 'freaks' entertain.
You may have heard of the name P.T Barnum from the very popular movie, The Greatest Showman.
