    Nutrition Protocols for Concussion Management

    Nutrition Protocols for Concussion Management

Last week with Cody we discussed his experience after several concussions. Including coming to a realization that his testosterone was literally zero after these blows to the head.

This week we continue with concussions and dive a little bit deeper.

Chett discusses the 'neurometabolic cascade', which is what happens inside the brain after the initial blow. He talks about how various nutrition protocols can be implemented for the management of concussions. Including creatine, omega-3, and more.

Research also suggests that the gut is damaged post concussion. What can we do to manage this? Chett covers this and much more.

Coping With Post Concussive Syndrome with Cody Oehm

Coping With Post Concussive Syndrome with Cody Oehm

The initial blow to the head resulting in a concussion is really only the first of many consequential events. For days, weeks, and sometimes years there's physiological changes that happen inside the brain. In many instances, this can lead to profound behavioural changes. This is what happened to Cody, although he didn't realize it, nor did the doctors.

In today's episode, Cody tells us his story about battling with behavioural changes after a number of concussions. After seeing numerous medical professionals it was finally determined that Cody had some serious hormonal changes as a result of these injuries - which was having an enormous affect on how he was feeling.

    Chett and Cody also discuss:

    - The hormone(s) affected by his injury

    - How a doctor finally uncovered this, and what they did to target it

    - Cody's experience working with Chett

    - Some lagging areas of concussion awareness and treatment

    - Cody's business, and much more!
