Welcome to our first planning podcast series.   

The planning podcast series will be hosted by Mario Wolf MRTPI, CBH Director of Planning & Strategic Engagement. We’re running a planning podcast series with key industry practitioners, landowners and developers to share some insights into the custom housing & self-build sector, its challenges and opportunities.The planning podcasts will be available on various platforms including Spotify and iTunes.   Our first podcast explores custom and self-build housing. We're delighted that Christopher Young QS, No5 Chambers, and Andy Moger MRTPI, Tetlow King Planning, were our guests.    

This podcast will explore:  

• Custom and Self Build Housing and the duty established through the Self-build and Custom  

• Housebuilding Act 2015, as amended by the Housing and Planning Act 2016. 

• Emerging custom and self-build market development opportunities. • Converting the opportunity into homes. • Government support & gaps in the legislative and policy framework.  

• Opportunities coming through the proposed planning reforms.
