Not being able to maintain your balance as you perform everyday tasks, makes taking care of yourself difficult, if not impossible. Teresa offers great tips to stay upright! There are small changes we can make to make sure we stay independent.  The earlier you start, the better! (In the episode Lou cites a yoga pose and notes the pose is standing head to toe. The correct name is standing head to knee.)

Homeless diversion programs work to immediately find housing for the homeless by providing financial support or benefits to family members or friends who can provide temporary shelter until a more permanent solution can be found.  These innovative programs tap the strength of the community to address this seemingly insurmountable issue which can be found in all areas of the country.

In this episode we meet Paulana Lamonier, owner and founder of Black People Will Swim where her company’s mission is “smashing the stereotype that black people don’t swim.” Paulana is a former collegiate swimmer who began offering swim lessons in backyard swimming pools during the pandemic.
