A beautiful business is blossoming for the young entrepreneurs who started Royal Lily Paper Co.
Royal Lily Paper Co. (based in Farmington, MO) bloomed from a remarkably selective high school program called, INCubatoredu, in which students are divided into teams and create a startup business through guided instruction and real life circumstances. The Royal Lily Team consists of four young women: Ella, Jessica, Lillian, and Finnly, who developed the idea to sell earth-friendly cards and stationery that will reduce contribution to the increasing rates of pollution. Flowers, food, fiber and lucky Penny at Brunner Family Farms
Sarah Brunner was born in the city, raised in the suburbs, and is currently living her best life in the country. Together with her husband Matt, and their two kids, Sarah runs Brunner Family Farm where they produce flowers, food, and fiber on 10 rural acres in Humboldt County, California. Brunner Family Farm started growing cut flowers 10 years ago and recently added “Penny” the flower truck to their business. Penny is a 1950 Chevy long bed and had been Sarah’s “dream truck” since she was a kid. Custom fitted with a beautiful canopy built by Matt, Penny can be found at local farmers markets, special events, and private parties as a bouquet bar and photo booth. In this episode Missy talks to Lauren Simmons from Brownings Homestead. Lauren and her husband, Drew, live in a log cabin on just over 100 acres in Cynthiana, Kentucky. They have a flower truck and flower trailer and work together building their homestead which includes
growing their own herbs and vegetables, milking their goats and cows, baking sourdough bread, raising pastured pork, riding horses, and of course, growing and arranging flowers.
