We can be drawn away from living a life of purpose to pursuing a life of passive comfort that leads to us numbing our purpose. (King Xerxes) Or pursuing a driven performance life that will crush our sense of purpose. (Haman)
Acknowledging that we as humans live in seasons and that God has something to teach us, tell us and heal us in each season can help give us a sense of purpose. For such a time as this. (Esther 4:14) -

Last Sunday, Scott Evans continued our 'A People of Purpose' Series and explored the theme of 'Who Am I?' from the baptism of Jesus in Matthew's Gospel. He invited us to understand ourselves as 'encouraged' (having heart placed in us), equipped (having different gifts and personalities) and entrusted (placed somewhere where we are called to have an influence.)

On Sunday Colin opened our new series “A People of Purpose”, exploring the wider biblical story, using a framework of Creation, Decreation, Recreation to help us navigate the different moments of scripture. When we understand the wider story and purposes of God, we then find our place and purpose within it and join with God in what He is doing in the world.
