Kanzenshuu - The Original Dragon Ball Podcast Kanzenshuu

My all time favourite podcast!

I have been listening to this podcast for a couple of years now and I am still enjoying every single new episode.

There is so much passion, knowledge and enthusiasm put into every one of them and the hosts and guests are some of the most fun and likable people I have ever had the pleasure to listen to. There are no awkward silences, from the very beginning the episodes had this beautiful professional structure and flow that just makes it pleasant and comfortable to listen to. Mike is one hell of a moderator, he makes conversations work with everyone, but all the other main cast members deserve the same praise. They‘re also genuinely funny, they have this great dynamic and their sense of humor just cracks me up every time. You can tell how much fun they’re having.

And then there’s the incredible amount of knowledge and interest these guys/girls have for the series and all the hard work they put into it, from their site (which is amazing on its own) to this podcast with interesting in-depth discussions, explanations, reviews, tidbits and the most extensive Dragon Ball news/releases coverage you can get. They know their stuff and they have well-formed opinions. If they don‘t like something, they’ll say it. It really feels like learning something new every time, even as an already knowledgeable fan.

On top of that every episode throws you back to the particular time it was produced. As the podcast started so many years ago (and the site reaching even further back in time), going back to episodes from prior years will introduce you to what fandom spirit and opinions were like and what was going on back then, if you‘re interested in that (I am). It was fun following the whole Yamamoto scandal or the evolution of DB video games over the years on a week-to-week basis, it puts everything into a completely different perspective.

Anyway, whatever kind of fan you are, this podcast will have something for you. They even reviewed the Manga volume by volume with someone who had never read the series before. Of course, their opinions are subjective, so you might not agree with everything, but that‘s the fun thing about discussions!

I play the podcast in the background while doing pretty much everything, drawing, playing video games, cooking, traveling. If you‘re a Dragon Ball fan, definitely check it out and I hope you fall in love with it like I did.
