Using Technology Mindfully with Iya and Zeniah
Welcome, listeners to our last episode of the semester!
In this episode, cohosts Iya and Zeniah come together to discuss their experiences with screens and social media throughout their lives. From limiting ourselves to helpful apps, they talk about different ways that SEL has helped them develop healthier relationships with technology!
Social-emotional learning is becoming more integrated within school systems. One of the ways in which educators are promoting SEL in schools is by being intentional in their approach. This may be evident when walking around the school and seeing displays which promote SEL skills and character strengths. At the Academy for Social and Emotional Learning in Schools,
we offer certificate programs to train educators to successfully integrate social emotional learning skills and character development into their teaching. In this fully online program, you too can learn how to integrate SEL and CD skills into school displays and be more intentional with your approaches to dissemination. This certificate program is geared toward novices and those with more experience. At the completion of this program, you will receive a certificate acknowledging your accomplishments and the skills that you have learned.

thinking, and addressing crucial issues such as substance abuse and violence
prevention. At the Academy for Social Emotional Learning in Schools, we offer
certificate programs to equip educators with tools to successfully integrate social-emotional
and character development (SECD) principles into teaching. This fully online
program, for both novice and experienced educators, features live chat discussions
for interactive and enhanced learning. Upon completion, educators will receive
a certificate showcasing their newfound knowledge and skills regarding the
