Before Nick Castle directed classic films like ‘The Last Starfighter’ or ‘The Boy Who Could Fly’ or ‘Tap’, he had already won an Oscar while still a student at USC. He was a reporter for the Hollywood Reporter where he had many close relationships with influential studio executives and other hollywood move-makers. He was the Director of digital media and marketing for The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (i.e. the organization responsible for the Oscars among other things). Recently, he has found major success working as a marketing consultant, writing for Medium, and for compiling the well-regarded newsletter "For The Interested."
