I have just started listening, so take this with a grain of salt, but this podcast seems amazing!

I very much like the underlying idea of the podcast and have learned things I otherwise would probably not have learned. That is great. However, if I compare this podcast to, for example, the revolutions podcast, then it is striking how much more care goes into the latter. The creator of the revolutions podcast makes sure that he has a justified opinion of his topics by reading the relevant literature. David seems to only do this occasionally, with the result that the podcast is not as clear and helpful as it could be. Sometimes I have to stop the podcast because I have the feeling that I do not get a reliable account here but just David reporting what he has read and what he thinks about that off the cuff without making sure that what he says on his podcast – which seems to reach thousands of people – is correct or at least a viable opinion. I begrudgingly return because I’d like to know at least something about the topics of this podcast, but I would be so much more happier would David put more care in this podcast. This could begin with him editing out at least some slips of the tongue or mispronounciations rather than just leaving everything in and so you hear him correct himself. This podcast has the potential to be truly helpful and great, so I hope my feedback is seen as constructive criticism.

I am a scholar of cultural studies and use the Podcast to get the essential points of canonical texts I haven’t yet read. If you understand English well, the summaries are quite accessible but not oversimplified. Also, I appreciate the humility with which the approaches the Books he speaks about.

I’m a student of media science in Germany. This Podcast helps me to get a better understanding of some texts. It also introduces me into some philosophical texts I haven’t read yet. And I like the voice of the Podcaster. He speaks in a clear way and is easy to understand for a non native English speaker like me.
