The concept of "Truth" is arguably one of the most important concepts to dominate the landscape of ideas. From pre-socratics to existentialists to religious folks to empiricists, truth has been contemplated in different and unique manners for each. In our 21st century, we have those who claim they have grabbed truth by the neck and only they have access to it---scientific Atheists and religious fundamentalists are great examples of this. The main divide between science and religion is this conceitedness of people on both sides, each claiming that their dogma is a better representation of truth than the other. We discuss in this episode how Atheists, Fundamentalists, and political ideologues all are wrong because they have a grip on only one representation of truth. To humbly edge closer to Truth, we must recognize different levels of abstractions of Truth. Some of these abstractions include "Religious Truths", "Psychological Truth", "Pragmatic Truth", "Mathematical Truth" (Kailey expands on this in the episode), and many more. Perhaps, to reconcile science and religion, not fall prey to intellectual hubris, and become more intimate with Truth, we must seek to understand its complexity and never settle for simple explanations. 

In this episode, we read a passage from Joseph Conrad's "The Heart of Darkness" and consider it's psychological and philosophical implications. Does society harbor us from evil? What happens when we our outside the realms of societal rule, does man revert to evil? These and other questions are asked and contemplated.

In this episode, we freely discuss the election, it's results, and conspiracy theories. We then transition into the discussion of objective morality. Carl Jung, Jean Piaget, and Jaak Panksepp and all their evidence of an objective morality is discussed and argued about. 

In this episode, we discuss the effects of modernism on the soul and the causes of nihilism and depression in our modern age. 

In this meeting, we dive deep into the different schools of philosophy and how they conceptualize our knowledge structures. The discussion quickly dissolved into an argument of values and the split between science and religion. Fiery debates, complex topics, and existential dread all in one episode, this is an episode to listen to.

In this episode we discuss what knowledge is and how it comes about. We discuss why is that knowledge can so easily become corrupted and mainly explore this topic through the Genesis story of Adam and Eve "falling" from heaven due to the attainment of the knowledge of good and evil. The Genesis story quite nicely segways into our discussion of evil and if humans have some inheritance of evil.  Other things we lightly touch on are: empiricism, relativism, and Nietzsche's concept of the ubermensch and how it may relate to the Cain symbol (post-paradise lost era).
