“The room is very small – barely larger than a closet – but with a very high ceiling. It is lit by a single source of dull, flickering light, which casts flittering shadows on the room’s bare walls. There are no windows and no apparent door. In the center of the room, bolted to the checkerboard tile floor, is a hard, wooden chair. Slumped unconscious on this chair is a man.”
