    Leadership in Education

    Leadership in Education

Darren Cox is the school Principal for St Philips Christian school based in Cessnock, New South Wales
In his LinkedIn profile, Darren refers to himself as a motivational speaker, educational influencer, and a strategic change manager!
He was also in the top 5 for Principal of the year in 2019
Apart from his extensive experience in education, Darren has extensive experience in podcasting, video shoots and is regularly requested to speak on stage with a range of educational and other organisations.  When you meet and connect with Darren, you’ll understand why
Facilitating a podcast with Darren was an absolute pleasure.  He made my job very easy
Darren had started to prepare his school for ‘flexible education’ quite some time before the recent COVID incident.  So, during the recent lockdown his school was more than prepared, and his staff and students thrived in their own individual virtual environments.
Right now, Darren is preparing the school for the future.  This looks like a blended system of classroom/synchronous virtual/asynchronous training to allow for the best education opportunity.  The schools’ students and their futures
    In the podcast we covered:
Leadership – leading the teaching-learning Well-being Communication If you want more information about Darren’s blended education process feel free to reach out to him on LinkedIn.

Leading in Times of Crisis in Healthcare

Leading in Times of Crisis in Healthcare

I had recently Stephanie Bowman and Reta Clyde as guests on one of the most impactful [and timely!] podcasts in the series to date!
HCA Healthcare [www.hcahealtcare.com] was founded in the USA in 1968. They have 280,000 staff with hospital facilities in 20 states. The organisation is committed to the care and improvement of human life.
Stephanie Bowman is the Director of Organisational Development, and Reta Clyde is the National Group Senior Leadership Training Specialist.
HCA Healthcare have been a VitalSmarts customer for more than 10 years. With 9500 Charge Nurses alone, the task of training and developing the organisation is massive!
HCA invest well in the people. A big part of Stephanie’s and Reta’s roles is to use Crucial Conversations training to give the people a framework and a vernacular - to help humanise people as well as conversations!
Their ongoing work in developing people at all levels within the organisation continues to pay real dividends.
They witness their teams across the organisation having real confidence in their leaders, and more importantly also in their senior executives. In the current crisis, their leaders are all seen moreso than ever to be doing the right thing!
Thanks for joining us and we hope you enjoyed learning about the power of being productive on purpose. If you enjoyed please leave us a review on iTunes.
