Episode 1 - Crowdfunding
Hello and welcome to the first episode of the Be The Spark podcast, brought to you by Bendigedig Media
Be The Spark is a movement fostering innovation driven entrepreneurship in Wales by enabling Welsh businesses to win and grow fast by linking you with the brightest minds in Wales.
This episode is focused on crowdfunding, and our host Jamie McGowan from Welsh Ice was joined by Kieran from SavePoint gaming and ESports Wales, Brian from LetterBox Lab and cartoonist Josh Hicks, who co-runs the Cardiff comics carnival and is art director of Bomper Studio who has collectively raised more than £10k of funding via Kickstarter!
People who are interested in starting their own project will need to look at ways to fund it, and one of the most used and well known ways to get funding is via crowdfunding. But where do you start?
Our guests discuss the dos and don’ts of crowdfunding, talk about why they chose to go down the crowdfunding route, and if they would do it again. They had a really interesting and insightful talk that will help answer a lot of the questions you may have about using crowdfunding websites to fund your own creative endeavours that we know will be very useful to a lot of people.
We hope you enjoy the podcast as much as we enjoyed recording it, and we shall see you again in a couple of months for episode 2, which will focus on active innovation.
