Watch the YouTube version of this episode HERE Are you looking to take advantage of a new case management system? In this episode of the Maximum Lawyer Podcast, Becca interviews Claude Simpson, Head of Training at Smart Advocate. Claude shares his extensive experience in the legal field and provides an in-depth look at Smart Advocate's case management system.  Claude talks about the importance of Smart Advocate. It is a case management software that helps lawyers and firms manage their cases in a comprehensive and inclusive way. Many lawyers are quite hesitant to use case management softwares. One of these hesitations is believing that a case management system will do the work for a firm. Even though software like Smart Advocate can keep files organized, those in the firm still need to input the information or review the information. Smart Advocate is a tool that can make work easier and simpler for firms, but won’t do everything to keep a firm running smoothly.  There are many great features to Smart Advocate. One of them is making the client communication process better. Smart Advocate can automate messages or emails for you that are sent to the client. The software also uses templates to draft documents so staff don’t need to sit down and copy and paste information into a word document or email. Unlocking the Power of Social Media with Julio Oyhanarte

Watch the YouTube version of this episode HERE Are you a lawyer who is looking to create a better social media presence? In this engaging episode of the Maximum Lawyer Podcast, Jim and Tyson converse with Julio Oyhanarte, the world's most followed immigration lawyer. Julio shares his journey of leveraging social media to educate and connect with immigrants on U.S. immigration processes.  Social media can be leveraged by lawyers to not only boost a business presence but attract followers and potential clients. For Julio, authenticity is necessary for success as a lawyer on social media. You need to present exactly as you are so those who want to connect and work with you are not being fooled.  Gaining a following on social media also involves good timing and effective content strategies to do well. It is important to decide what works for you. Is it short form content? Do you prefer longer form videos chatting about certain legal topics? You need to think about how to use social media to your benefit. Julio provides some tips to lawyers who are trying to utilize Tiktok. It is difficult to capture people’s attention in this day and age. Because of this, you need to get people’s attention right away. Julio emphasizes the need to think about the first frame. Think about how it looks, what you say and what is in the background. You need to offer them something that they want or maybe something they should learn. Hook people to get them interested and then provide the important content. Take a listen to learn more! Jim's Hack: Read the book called “Start, Scale, Exit, Repeat: Serial Entrepreneurs’ Secrets Revealed!” by: Colin C. Campbell — which talks about how to build something to allow you to sell it.  Julio’s Tip: Think about the quote “People will remember how you enter the stage and how you leave it”. Think about how to hook someone in and the last impression for someone to remember you. Tyson's Tip: Read a book called “Winning the Story Wars by: Jonah Sachs” which helps you rethink how to tell your story using different topics like politics and business.  2:38 insights on authenticity for success in social media 8:02 Good timing and effective content strategies for success  16:32 Essential tips for lawyers considering TikTok Tune in to today’s episode and checkout the full show notes here.  Connect with Julio: Website Instagram Facebook  Youtube TikTok

The Smaller You Define Your World, the Bigger Your Problems Seem

Watch the YouTube version of this episode HERE Are you a lawyer who struggles with focusing on small issues? In this episode of the Maximum Lawyer Podcast, Tyson delves into the significance of perspective in problem-solving for law firm owners, inspired by a Mike Cernovich quote. The quote is “The smaller you define your world, the bigger your problems seem”. For lawyers, little things can cause a lot of stress. This turns every small problem into a huge issue. If you take a step back and think about how that problem fits into your world, your mindset about little issues can really change. One thing lawyers can do to overcome this is to think about how these issues affect your long term vision. Most times, these issues will not have an effect on where you want to go or what you want to accomplish. They will be small blips along the journey, so it is best to find ways to mitigate those issues. Mitigating can come in a few ways. One of these ways is to delegate tasks that are weighing heavily on you. Maybe intake is stressing you out or following up with some clients is time consuming. Delegate these tasks out to members of your team so you can feel less stressed and you can focus on other things. Listen in to learn more! 2:40 The relevance of the quote in managing daily stress 3:48 How a narrow view can amplify problems  6:58 Reassessing current challenges  8:01 The importance of having a long-term vision  9:16 The need for delegation to reduce overwhelm and expand one's capacity Tune in to today’s episode and checkout the full show notes here. The Best Communication Techniques for Winning Over Potential Clients

Watch the YouTube version of this episode HERE Are you a lawyer who struggles to be empathetic when working with clients? In this episode of the Maximum Lawyer Podcast, hosts Jim Hacking and Tyson Mutrux discuss the importance of using empathy to effectively communicate with clients. Practicing voice inflection and empathy are skills that can help when working and connecting with clients. This is more so when speaking with potential clients and it can really seal the deal on getting people to trust you to take on their case. Jim emphasizes the importance of perspective and thinking about what it would be like to be the client calling the law firm to ask for help. Using feedback provided from a colleague, Jim speaks to the need for lawyers to be empathetic and how this is something his firm is working on. Being empathetic is a balancing act in the legal space and Jim and Tyson talk about why this happens and how to get better at showing empathy when working with clients with different needs. It is important to sift and sort clients when they call in. You need to listen and let them know they are heard but also resolve the issue quickly and decide if you will move them down the line to the next step. If not, you need to kindly refer them somewhere else or let them know that your firm is not the right fit for what they need.  Take a listen to learn more! 9:13 Feedback from clients regarding clarity in communication  12:42 Discussion on the challenge of being empathetic while assessing potential clients 14:46 Strategies for respectfully ending calls with clients  Tune in to today’s episode and checkout the full show notes here.
