Malcolm Wellington was raised in the projects of East London.  After a difficult childhood, he married young and by 26 had two children.  Fast forward and by the early nineties he had ended his 20 year marriage and was diagnosed with a life threatening brain tumor!  These changes led to deep reflection and a decision to release the negative beliefs he had been holding.  Over the past two decades Malcolm has studied with many outstanding teachers including Derek Rydall and Eben Pagan.  He also had a diploma in therapeutic counseling.  In the past few years Malcolm has focused on becoming a coach and stepping into his ideal life path.   He coaches professionals 45 to 55 to believe in themselves so that they can have more meaning,joy and success in their lives than ever dreamed possible!  Let me introduce you to a man who has gone from believing he was worthless to owning his power as a LEADER !!!!

Career path 3:21

  • Read hundreds of books on self development over 15 years
  • Started as a counselor in UK, didn’t continue when he moved to Canada, didn’t have much of a career for many years
  • Read a book in 2018 that inspired him to become a coach
  • In the 1990s he had a divorce and then a life-threatening brain tumor
  • Realized that he wanted a better life
  • Went back to old job, hated how it had changed, made an escape plan
     

Moving to Canada 12:28

  • Sometime around ‘98-‘99 randomly met man who had emigrated from Wales to Canada, sounded very interesting
  • Left for Vancouver in July 2000
  • “If I want something badly enough, and I feel it’s possible, I REALLY go for it.”
  • Thinking without intuition will let you down

Becoming a coach 18:15

  • Had learned how he’d become the person he was through counseling, now learning how to change himself in a positive way
  • Coaching changed him more than counseling
  • When you don’t believe you have value, you always come from the energy of not wanting to be rejected
  • Change your story, change your life
  • Your mindset shapes your life, so choose a positive and growth-focused mindset

Starting your day with inspiration 26:32

  • Find something that resonates with you (yoga, meditation, healthy breakfast, etc) to start the day

Gaining confidence 28:08

  • Challenging, but possible by taking one step at a time
  • Focusing on your vision/desire helped get through the fears and difficulties
  • When you let your fears stop you, you pay the price - sometimes a very high price
  • Everyone has been wearing physical masks for COVID, but many people have been wearing metaphorical masks for much longer
  • The virus that the metaphorical mask protects against is the negative beliefs programmed from childhood

How to change your own story 32:47

  • The inner game: is this story serving me anymore, or is it holding me back?
  • You have to take what you learn and actually put it into practice
  • Look at your whole life, see what’s working for you and what isn’t, focus your energy on what works
  • Knowing yourself is KEY
  • Look at your life from the perspective of “what can I do/how can I achieve my goal?”
  • What do I believe, and how am I living that belief?
  • Begin with the end in mind, go step by step, BE KIND TO YOURSELF
