The 2024 NHL Draft is three days away and the anticipation continues to grow for who the Stars will take as they hold the 29th pick in the first round. Joey took right shot defensemen Harrison Brunicke at #29 in this mock draft, so we looked at the other 31 picks and discuss where which prospects might go where on Friday night. We also include a Locked On NHL Prospects selection evaluation and prospect review on three players we've talked about before on the channel. They include, Ryder Ritchie, Charlie Elick and of course Brunicke. In the final segment of the episode, Joey answers some big questions about the draft including, how many top six and top four players are in the draft, when would you take the first goaltender and more!

The Dallas Stars released the much anticipated injury report last week with mostly good news coming along with it. Players like Tyler Seguin, Chris Tanev, Jani Hakanpaa and Roope Hintz were concerns, but will not require offseason surgery. Joey goes through each player and what they were dealing with throughout the postseason in the first segment. We then switch topics to how important Thomas Harley will be to the Stars future. It's time for another edition of Free Agent Friday! Today, we look at the top centers available this summer in Free Agency. This class does not come with a ton of star power, but does include the names of Sam Reinhart and Steven Stamkos. Joey shares his opinions on certain player including Chandler Stephenson, Adam Henrique, Sean Monahan and a few others. It also includes Matt Duchene, who has been a hot topic of conversation this offseason. How the Stars deal with Duchene will be rather interesting because Joey believes there is not a better fit on the market. Other discussions within the episode include the possibility of Patrick Kane coming to Dallas and potential trade targets for the Stars of player on expiring deals at the end of next season.

The NHL offseason is beginning to heat up and the Dallas Stars made their first move by trading Ty Dellandrea yesterday. On today's episode of Locked On Stars, we look at how his departure could impact Chris Tanev, Matt Duchene, and other moves the Stars make this offseason. The Dallas Stars have traded Restricted Free Agent Forward Ty Dellandrea to the San Jose Sharks for a 2025 4th-round pick this afternoon. On today's episode of Locked On Stars, Joey reacts to the trade and why he believes this was the best move for both sides at this point in time. The Stars have a luxury of forwards in the bottom six, Sam Steel who is also an RFA played in 77 games last season and will be a priority next season along with Radek Faksa, plus the elevation of Mavrik Bourque. Dellandrea now gets the oppurtunity to play everyday in San Jose. We also discuss the possibility of this being a small move in a larger picture, will Dallas move on from Faksa in order to sure up the defense or is this just a one and done situation. It's Fake Trade Tuesday on Locked On Stars! Joey goes through a possible trade scenario for the Dallas Stars that involves moving off Jason Robertson. In return, the Stars would receive right handed defenseman John Carlson from the Washington Capitals. The trade would also send Radek Faksa to Washington and Sonny Milano to Dallas in order to complete the deal. Joey weighs the pros and cons of the deal and why it might be an intriguing offer for both teams, but more importantly a way for Dallas to improve on the back end if they do not resign Chris Tanev. In the 2nd segment, we imagine a perfect place where cap space does not exist and you can pay any player whatever you want because you have all of the money. Which player would you want on the Dallas Stars in a perfect world? Joey has a couple of player on his mind, Dougie Hamilton and Mortitz Seider. In the final segment, we propose a scenario where you have to move of one of these three players for the Stars. Wyatt Johsnton, Mavrik Bourque or Logan Stankoven.
