The Gig Hero

Richard Young has been a full-time professional magician since 2007. He began as a close-up performer at private and corporate events and alongside this, he also created and hosted The Magicians’ Podcast which broadcast interviews with the biggest names in magic including Derren Brown, Teller, and David Copperfield.

Richard is also half of the double act Young & Strange who have headlined the internationally touring show Champions of Magic for nearly 10 years playing the biggest theatres and arenas across North America. In 2021, Young & Strange also featured in the hit West End magic variety show Wonderville at The Palace Theatre.

Richard has also worked as a consultant on the recent Ehrlich Brothers show at Wembley Arena where he helped translate the show and has also written an 11000-word essay with David Copperfield analysing 10 of his most iconic illusions.

He is also the owner and manufacturer of changingcards.com, a reinvention of a classic that received rave reviews across the magic community. Richard is A Member of The Inner Magic Circle with Gold Star and lives in Oxfordshire, England with several dying house plants.
