What makes an anime a classic?

As we are getting back into the hang of things, we discuss what has happened over the past 8 months, what is going on in our lives, relationship dynamics and of course our most favorite topic of all: Anime and Manga.

We talk about content creation for anime, anime merchandising, the lack of anime store in NYC, the new Netflix anime called Yasuke and of course our random chats in between.

Do you believe that the anime industry deliberately sabotages series from succeeding despite its predecessors success? Why aren't demographics like josei especially Seinen not as well liked compared to Shojo and in particular Shonen?
