    Fallacy of Feminism

    Fallacy of Feminism

Trigger Warning: Gender discrimination, strong language, sexual assault, rape.
A movement that began with advocating for the rights of women on the ground of the equality of sexes for something as basic as exercising their franchise has come a long way. A movement that has evolved into different ideologies in the present time. From Mainstream Feminism to Post-Modern feminism to Socialist and Marxist feminism to Transfeminism there has been one thing common in the society at large which is the inability to understands, accept, and progress with many existing fallacies about this movement. Modern-Day Indians have different perspectives of what feminism is, some use this as a tool to fight the societal evil whereas some may use it as a weapon to incriminate the innocent. To shed light on recent events that have sparked controversies such as the #MeToo movement used by many women and men to call out sex offenders on social media on the flipside used by women and men as their pathway to getting fame on social media, the very recent 'bois locker room' chat which exposed the objectification of under-age girls, following this was the reveal of the Snapchat conversation wherein a girl had made a fake account to 'test' the boy if he falls of the gambit of raping another girl. Moreover, the suicide of a teenage boy after he was accused of raping a girl, wherein she took to social media talking about the incident. In this particular episode, we are looking to discuss such controversies, answering questions like; Do the ends justify the means? Has this become gender v. gender and not the people v. the problem? Have the words, feminism, and feminists been understood in a different manner by modern-day Indian Men and Women?

    Worship your Work

    Worship your Work

How many of us have been in a situation where we ask ourselves, "Why am I killing myself for this job?" "No one appreciates what I am doing." "What am I trying to prove?"We are ready to step back from pursuing our passion or working on something that brings us immense joy. The biggest problem for many working people is that the actual work on their desks is the easy part of the job, It's only made hard to complete because of the politics, the policies, and the dark, fearful energy that flows throughout the workplace and bogs everyone down.  A toxic work culture not only affects the turnover or productivity of an organization or company but also the morale, work output, and the zeal of an employee.   Millennials keep getting labeled as the 'burnout generation,' but a toxic workplace affects everyone in negative ways both personally and professionally.  We intend to build a conversation around the same, share our stories, and discuss how we coped with such challenging circumstances.

In Conversation With a Mental Health Professional: Part 2

In Conversation With a Mental Health Professional: Part 2

Trigger Warning: Mentions of anxiety, phobic states, depressive moods, uncertainty, interpersonal problems, paranoia, post traumatic stress disorder, suicidal tendencies, emotional abuse.

The last couple of months in entirety have been really challenging, globally as well as locally. The nature of issues around us may differ, however, one feeling that we all have in common is uncertainty. What we understand is that there is no single person who was better equipped or better prepared to deal with the vast ranges of emotions we're experiencing right now, as the lockdown took all of us by surprise. In times like these, what we consider as the 'normal' and the 'routine' has been redefined. To adjust to changes like these can be really tricky, and this is when each one of us resort to our own ways or coping mechanisms in dealing with feelings of anxiousness. There are just so many questions. How do we hold spaces of empathy for others when we're drained with emotions ourselves? For those who are working from home, how do we ensure work doesn't  permeate boundaries because there aren't any set 'working hours' anymore? We've heard so many instances of personal spaces being violated by family members, unknowingly. And so, to get these answered, we thought there was nothing better than to come straight to the source. Here we are, in conversation with a mental health professional.

    Haggle on Hate

    Haggle on Hate

Some of the greatest speeches of the free world resonate to date; "Give me blood and I shall give you freedom", said Shubhash Chandra Bose. "Freedom is our birthright", said Bal Gangadhar Tilak. "I have a dream", said Martin Luther King Jr.

Some speeches gave you goosebumps, some speeches angered you, and then there are just some speeches which leave you shocked and disappointed making you wonder if the Freedom Of Speech is being misused.

Bharat tere tukde honge, inshallah inshallah or desh ke gadaro ko goli maro saalo ko, does this remind you of something? Hate speech or constructive criticism? Sometimes, actually most of the time media houses turn speeches out of context or the context out of the speeches and turn it into material for propaganda, maybe, something that sells and gets them more viewers. In this episode, we are looking to discuss some speeches that are turned into a hate speech or how some particular words of a speech are taken out of context after which these words individually have a different interpretation. How far could someone go to turn criticism into hate? How could this be tackled in the digital age?
