    Israel hits Rafah as Gaza ceasefire deal hangs in balance

    Hamas said on Monday it had approved a ceasefire proposal put forward over the weekend. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he could not agree to the proposal - but is willing to negotiate.
