    The Janitor in the Boardroom

    The Janitor in the Boardroom

    The Janitor in the boardroom is a term I use for which players take shots in a game. The term shot distribution must be a staple if you are concerned about maximizing each offensive possession. Just as janitors are not invited into the boardroom to make huge decisions, coaches need to decide based on statistics who and how many shots, from where, each player takes. You will find this an intriguing podcast that posed good questions for you to answer honestly. Upon reflection I think you will begin to look differently at shot selections. REMEMBER--Players do on Friday night what you tolerate on Monday-Thursday in practice.!

    How to Create Shots for Good Shooters

    How to Create Shots for Good Shooters

    This is a Q & A podcast based on a question by a high school coach from Virginia
    His question is;
    We run a lot of cutting/screening drills in practice but we can’t get open shots in the game. We have smart guys and they are good shooters. What is your advice on getting open for more open shots?

    Listen as I offer several ideas on how to get his best players more shots by creating separation from the defender. I give five examples of how explosiveness through change of speed and direction can make any player a threat to hit open shots.
    Enjoy the Podcast.
