In the 1970's in Glasgow, a turf war between ice cream vans in Scotland turned deadly. 6 people died as a result, and the police were blasted for the way they handled the case, basically making the evidence fit the crime and going after the wrong people.
Corruption in the police was very widespread back then, at least they are a little more discreet these days.
