The Founding 4 Podcast is a women's hockey podcast hosted by Erica L. Ayala and Angelica Rodriguez. Listen to players chat about the latest news, biggest games, and history of the women's pro league. In 2015, the National Women’s Hockey League brought the first professional women’s hockey league to the United States. The NWHL started with four founding teams: Boston Pride, Connecticut Whale, Buffalo Beauts, and the New York Riveters.

    1v1 with Goaltender Corinne Schroeder

    In 2024, Corinne Schroeder was inducted into the Women's Beanpot Hall of Fame. The former Boston University goaltender led the Terriers to three straight Beanpot title games, including the 2019 Beanpot championship. She went 3-1-2 in six Beanpot starts and stopped 61 of 66 shots en route to the 2019 title. Schroeder is BU’s all-time leader in career goals-against average and save percentage.   Schroeder plays for New York in the PWHL, where she recently made history with a 29-save shutout in the team's inaugural game. Host Erica L. Ayala spoke to PWHL New York goaltender Corinne Schroeder before the induction ceremony on January 23, 2024. Postscript: Sadly, Schroeder was unable to attend the event.     Twitter Spaces Deep Dive: What Happened at Harvard?

    This episode was initially recorded on Twitter Spaces on June 12, 2023  TRIGGER WARNING:  racism, homophobia, mental/emotional abuse, eating disorders, body shaming, gaslighting, sexual harassment, hazing. The Boston Globe & The Athletic articles reported allegations of mistreatment and misconduct toward players by Harvard Women's Hockey Coach Katey Stone and claims of hazing within the program. The university hired the law firm Jenner & Block to conduct the review in March. A school spokesperson confirmed the investigation was complete, per The Athletic, on June 6th.  Founding 4 Pod Discussion Points Where do you draw the line when it comes to players’ experiences?     The Minnesota Whitecaps may have fallen short in overtime during the 2023 Isobel Cup Final, but they did finish the 2022-23 season with a title. For the second year, the Whitecaps took home bragging rights from the Battle of the Rig hosted by the Tulsa Oilers in Oklahoma.  Angelica Rodriguez and Erica L.     California native Justine Reyes worked her way up to the top line for the Connecticut Whale in her first Premier Hockey Federation season. As the Whale prepare for the postseason, Reyes tallied 14 points (9 G, 8A) in 24 games.  Erica L. Ayala spoke with Reyes about her hockey journey from St. Lawrence to Sweden, and now the Nutmeg State.
