    Happy Opening Day to all who celebrate! We're celebrating with a brand new Keeper of the Games with Blake Cripps and Tommy Castor!On this episode #114:- The Final Four is set, but unfortunately, the Kansas State Wildcats are not there after falling in the Elite Eight to Florida Atlantic University.  Blake and Tommy break down that game and what the future holds for Jerome Tang and the Wildcats in the offseason and beyond.- The Kansas Jayhawks were without Bill Self on the sideline for the NCAA Tournament, and the Jayhawks fell to Arkansas in the 2nd round of the NCAA tourney.  Since the early exit, the Hawks have lost 5 players to the transfer portal as well as the careers being done for Jalen Wilson and Gradey Dick (more than likely).  What's the future look like for KU and how can they work the portal this offseason?- Wichita State hoops has their man.  Paul Mills, who led Oral Roberts University to an NCAA tourney bid this season, plus a 30 win year has been named the new head coach for Shocker hoops.  The guys break down the hire and what Mills needs to do to exceed expectations in his first season for WSU basketball.- Our Wichita Whiparound features discussion on Shocker baseball and softball and Newman baseball.- Our A's, C's and R's congratulations the Kansas Jayhawks women's hoops team for making it to the finals of the WNIT and we get ready for Opening Day baseball!Thanks for listening!     It's Super Bowl Week and we're ready to roll with a brand new Keeper of the Games with Blake Cripps and Tommy Castor!On this episode #110:- We are locked into Super Bowl Week with the Chiefs and Eagles.  The Chiefs beat the Bengals 23-20 in the AFC Championship and Blake and Tommy break down that game and look ahead to all the major storylines in the Super Bowl, plus predictions and what to be on the lookout for in the big game.- Wichita State hoops is in the midst of winning 5 out of their last 8 games and things finally look to be gelling for the Shockers.  Blake and Tommy break down the production from the starting 5 and how this new look Shockers offense is running.- At the time of the recording, Kansas State was battling TCU and looking to end their 3 game conference losing skid.  The Wildcats did in fact beat the Horned Frogs and so K-State remains a game back of Texas in the Big 12 hunt.  Blake and Tommy discuss how important this stretch is for K-State hoops.- The Kansas Jayhawks followed up a lifeless road effort against Iowa State last weekend with a complete team victory at home against the Texas Longhorns to remain 1 game back in the Big 12 standings.  Blake and Tommy talk about the remarkable fact that KU beat a Top 5 Texas team with Jalen Wilson only scoring 2 points and how it was the supporting cast and bench for the Jayhawks that stepped up big.- Our Wichita Whiparound features discussion on a Super Bowl bet between law enforcement leaders in Wichita and the success of Newman University men's hoops.- The show wraps up with a quick update on Zach Greinke resigning with the Royals for another year.Thanks for listening!     Let's get into a brand new episode of the KOGpod as we get into the AFC Championship game!On this episode #109:- For the 5th straight year, the AFC Championship game will be at Arrowhead Stadium as the Chiefs take on the Bengals.  Blake and Tommy break down this game and what it may take for the Chiefs to finally beat the Bengals after losing their last 3 games against Cincy.- It's been a highly entertaining Big 12 season in hoops so far as currently 6 of the 10 teams are within 1 game of 1st place.  In the highly competitive conference, Kansas State is tied for the lead and have been one of the nation's best stories with Jerome Tang at the helm.  On the other end, the Kansas Jayhawks have lost 3 straight and are in danger of losing 4 straight for the first time in the Bill Self era.  Blake and Tommy break down the trajectories of both teams and how the 2nd half of the conference season may turn out.- At the time of the recording, Wichita State men's basketball was locked in a battle with Tulane inside Koch Arena.  Tommy and Blake discuss the Shockers and where they stand in American conference play.- Our Wichita Whiparound features discussion on the announcement of a renovation for Wilkins Stadium for Wichita State softball and 3 ranked teams in KCAC men's basketball.- The show wraps up with quick updates on trade moves from the Kansas City Royals, including their recent trade of Adalberto Mondesi.Thanks for listening!     We are officially back from our long winter's rest!  Hope everyone had a great holiday and it's time to dive into the first episode of 2023 of the KOGpod!On this episode #108:- Since we've been out, the Kansas City Chiefs grabbed the #1 seed in the AFC and will have a bye going into the divisional round.  Blake and Tommy discuss their confidence level for KC in the playoffs and what it might take for them to make a Super Bowl run and who could possibly get in their way.- The Kansas State Wildcats finished out a phenomenal season with an unfortunate loss in the Sugar Bowl to Alabama.  With Will Howard returning next year, a great recruiting class coming in,, but the loss of top performers Deuce Vaughn, Malik Knowles and Felix Anudike-Uzomah all declaring for the NFL Draft, what should the expectations for the Cats be next season?- The Kansas Jayhawks fell in a highly entertaining Liberty Bowl to Arkansas in 3 OT's 55-53.  Defense should be the focus of this program to improve in 2023, but Blake and Tommy talk about how far off the Hawks are in being a complete team next year.- Our Wichita Whiparound has an update on All Metro HS football, plus a new, but familiar face running the Wichita Wind Surge and a permanent home for the NBC World Series for the next two seasons.- The show wraps up with quick updates on all 3 area Division 1 basketball programs, namely how the Jayhawks are one of the best teams in America, the Shockers are struggling to find their identity and win conference games, and the Wildcats are one of the biggest surprises on the hardwood in the country this season.Thanks for listening!
