Money, Democracy, China: Understand the US-Taiwan Alliance

Biden Will Temporarily Bar Most Asylum Seekers At US Border

Following several record-high months for migrants crossings at the U.S. southern border last year, President Biden is taking executive action to swiftly deport would-be asylum seekers when the seven-day average of unauthorized crossings exceeds 2,500. It echoes past Trump administration policies and, pending expected court challenges, implements provisions laid out in a doomed bipartisan reform proposal negotiated earlier this year.

Hooked on npr politics

I'm a political podcast junkie but what I love most about this podcast is the good humor of the reporters. Their reporting is always thoughtful and well researched but hearing them laugh and have fun online makes me smile, sometimes laugh and just generally brightens my day! Keep it up!

Good neutral summary, but sloppy

This podcast was my gateway to political podcasts, but as I’ve discovered others I listen less and less to this one. I get it that NPR has to be seen as politically neutral, but the “we’re having such a great time!” tone of the younger members of the team is off-putting. These are serious times, demanding serious reporting and discussion. The flippant, often highly casual banter (filled with frequent “sort of”, “like”, and “you know”) turns me off. I suggest the team, especially the younger members, study political reporting by Australian, British, and European media for ideas on how to sound more sagacious and less vacuous.
