In this episode, we draw links between the 60's Scoop and today, where coercion and disempowerment continue to be central themes in mothers giving up their children for adoption. We speak with a mother named Kat about her experience of surrendering her child to adoption in 2001. We also speak with Indigenous adoptee, Nakuset about the systemic removal of Indigenous children and the impact of intergenerational trauma on adoptees parenting their own children.
