Neil and Chuck at their best

Hi, it’s always a pleasure to listen to Neil, always in a good mood and obviously good and intelligent conversationist. Chuck is so entertaining and thoughtful, thanks both of you.
I apologize for my poor English.
I would however talk about the CO2 finger about the snow making machine.
Having renewable energy is clearly not enough, the very existence of the machines has a CO2 fingerprint : materials, manufacturing, repairs, recycling can never be CO2 neutral.
And it’s for some kind of futile activity. I understand the economics around skiing and it’s important locally to have a sustainable activity but even the renewable energy coud have been used for something more vital for human kind.
Another example is the data centers, they are running CO2 neutral, it’s good but the growth of servers is outpacing the reduction of energy they need by x5.

The Steve Irwin of astrophysics

Neil deGrasse Tyson is to astrophysics what Steve Irwin was to nature show presenters - the most annoying and self-indulgent character in the business. At least DGT is too far from the stars to bother them, but pity the listeners having to put up with his greasy, self-important televangelist jocularity. Insufferable. I really love the topic, but dGT is putting me off it big time.

And there was light ... pure delight.

You’re making my two hours commute a delight .. this podcast is fun for everyone and science for everyone. It has the taste of a good burger with the benefits of good vegetables.
