We’re finally back at it. This week, (some of) the boys are back in town for another absurd episode. Katon and Evo once again return this time alongside YPT contributors Soju Operator and Kalashnikoffing. For those who missed the last episode, Katon is a newly minted  USPSA Grand Master Class level shooter under the Carry Optics division and Evo is a security and EMT professional currently working towards medical school. 

As one can imagine, only the SPICEST of takes are discussed here. Together, they cover various topics in regard to the firearms space including what it takes to reach Grand Master level, firearms training myths perpetuated by the left, process vs results-oriented training, why the idea of “gatekeeping” in the competitive shooting space is mostly bullshit, shit talking Tu Lam, and why MIRA Safety is a total joke of company.

We are pleased to have several members of the Puget Sound Jöhñ Brôwń Gûñ Cłūb this week on the podcast. The club for several years has undertaken community defense efforts in the greater Seattle area.

As the crew describes it, they undertake efforts that the state can’t or won’t do. Hear how the crew not only provides a visible security presence at actions, but assists with planning, deescalation, and medical assistance as a counter to hostile far right actors.

You’ll hear community defense has evolved since 2020 beyond firearms, including efforts like sharing skills to others in the community.

On this week’s episode, John Chinaman was able to interview Ukrainian drone pilot and self described “queer disaster” Kafa. They are a non-binary anarchist who fought with the 93rd Mechanized Brigade in Bakhmut.



Content warning: this episode includes graphic descriptions of war, political repression, and violence. 

Kafa told their story to YPT, from their journey growing up in Crimea, to fleeing after Russia’s 2014 invasion to Kyiv, to living in Berlin. They returned to Ukraine after Russia again invaded in 2022. They discuss what it’s like to be non-binary and an anarchist in the infantry. 



Kafa describes why they decided to fight and how they enjoy army life. Kafa also addressed the debates in the West about whether the USA and others should give arms to Ukraine. Importantly, Kafa confirms that they are the They/Them Army everyone keeps talking about on Twitter 👀

Apologies for the hiatus! On this week’s episode of the Tiger Bloc Podcast, we feature a good friend and one of the best medical trainers in the business, Dan Bernal of Grizzly Medical!

Dan is a former US Army combat medic, having directly saved lives in missions as well as having taught Iraqi and Kurdish medics in joint combat operations. He also served as an on-site TCCC and EMT trainer. Recognizing a severe lack of knowledge for practical first aid training in the civilian world, Dan created Grizzly Medical. The company’s mission is to provide the latest in TCCC doctrine and combine this with live simulations in order to bring the most grounded, truth-to-life first-aid training possible to non-professionals. 

Together, Soju Operator and Dan discuss the insufficiency of current Stop the Bleed training, why you should always be carrying a medical kit, medical misconceptions, first-hand experience in saving a man’s life, the tourniquet market, the value of live simulation training, and what his classes offer.

Anarcho Airsoftist is a collective of airsofters, martial artists, and firearms owners specializing in self-defense training for marginalized individuals. The Black Cat Rifle Group is a newly formed leftist firearms organization dedicated to providing free firearms training workshops that teach not only defensive training but also how to build future trainers.

Together, they discuss specific training concepts, martial arts and firearms trends, how to form a consistent training group, and how lessons of the past can inform our decision now.
