396 - Tell Her Story - with Dr. Nijay Gupta

Voxology

Tell Her Story. Dr. Nijay Gupta joins Mike and Tim to discuss his new book, "Tell Her Story: How Women Led, Taught, and Ministered in the Early Church." First, Dr. Gupta talks about his own journey and study. If women can’t be trusted with teaching or leading at church, why should they be trusted teaching other women or children? Did the first century understand terms like patriarchy? How does Paul speak about his ministry associates, Phoebe, Prisca, and Junia? Why Mary as the caretaker of the Messiah? How do ideas of status and gender relate? How have we taken our own patriarchal structures and superimposed them onto scripture?

As always, we encourage and would love discussion as we pursue. Always feel free to email in questions to hello@voxpodcast.com, and to engage the conversation on Facebook and Instagram.
