Ep. 48 - NOT goal setting for dummies

Episode 48: NOT Goal Setting for Dummies

Goal setting for success – how is it different from the typical goal setting tips and tricks you hear all over the place? Well, as usual, my approach takes into mind your deeper motivation and mindset. Getting clear on why your goals matter, the potential consequences if your goal is not met, and the longer-term benefits of achieving your goal can be powerful motors to propel you to success.

Why do you want to start working out? Mitigating the risk of heart disease, remaining independent in your older years and better enjoying your life are deeper and more powerful reasons than “my doctor told me to” or “I want to look better.” Why do you want to build wealth? Passing a legacy to your children or personal charity and securing time freedom are profoundly more motivating than “I want to buy more things or “I want to be better than my brother.”

Join me today as I walk through my tried and tested approach to setting (and achieving!) goals that really matter to you.

Episode 47: Could philanthropy be the answer to A Wealthy Life?

This week I speak with audio producer, philanthropist, author, property investor and mentor Tom Evans about legacy. Tom started his current journey as a corporate audio designer who felt burned out and unmotivated. Gradually, his shift to writing and creating meditations opened up a whole new world of possibility – not only in his career but also in his financial and personal life. Once a city dweller who never dreamed of letting out property, he is now happily based in the country and manages a property portfolio with very happy tenants.

Tom is someone who I have worked with as a coach before and whose impact via his wonderful meditations (see the link to Insight Timer below) has benefitted people around the world. In our conversation, he tells us about how his experience has taught him to control the speed of time, and how what goes around comes around in some beautiful and inspiring ways.

I hope you’ll join us and learn from Tom’s unique journey to a Wealthy Life.

Ep 46: Why private Landlords are better at solving the housing crisis

Ep 46: Why private Landlords are better at solving the housing crisis

Episode 46: Why private Landlords are better at solving the housing crisis

This week I am sitting down with Rachael Troughton to speak about property and the role of private landlords in solving housing crises. Rachael is a property owner, podcast host, business mentor, speaker, farm owner and wedding venue proprietor extraordinaire. On an island with limited space, providing enough housing can be challenging. Without private landlords, there simply wouldn’t be enough quality places to live.

While private landlords are often depicted as abusive and greedy in the British media, the truth is often the opposite. True private landlords (and not just people looking to make a pound off of letting their garden shed) are subject to dozens of regulations and inspections that prevent issues with mould or leaks and protect the rights and quality of life of tenants. We will be discussion recent legislation around renting, key characteristics of a good landlord, and the pressures and challenges faced by private landlords who are trying to provide safe, decent housing.

Tune in if you are a landlord (or a renter for that matter), or if you have been thinking of investing in property to learn more.

Ep 45 - Everyone Knows You're Faking It

Ep 45 - Everyone Knows You're Faking It

Episode 45: Everyone knows you’re faking it

Why? Because they’re faking it as well. I’m not talking about “faking it ‘til you make it.” That can often work and serve the purpose of giving you confidence until you achieve your goals. I’m talking about trying to delude yourself or others that you’re something that you’re not or that your life is different than it is.

To have a truly sustainable, wealthy life you must be in control of your thoughts and desires. If you spend your energy trying to chase others’ approval, you will never get it. Guaranteed. You have to chase what you want and do so from a point of authenticity. Who are you really? What do you really want? What works for you so you can achieve the goals you set for yourself?

Ep 44 - Isn't It Time You Decided For Your Self?

Ep 44 - Isn't It Time You Decided For Your Self?

Episode 44: Isn’t it time you decided for yourself

This episode is all about removing stress from your life! Step One: make sure you are the person calling the shots in your life. Celebrities, marketing and social pressure have no place in your decision making. Step Two: make sure you feel grateful and appreciated. Step Three: do what you want to do with the people you want to spend time with.

Around the holidays, there are several ways you can put these steps into practice. For example, do you even like Christmas pudding or would you prefer chocolate cake? Do your kids need (or even want) 10 new toys or is there one special thing they would love? Do you like holiday parties or would you rather go for a walk with friends? There are sets of rituals we are told we must follow during the holiday season, and I’m sure I’m not the first to tell you how stressful these can be.

I invite you to be discerning this holiday season about what really brings you joy and adds value to your life. In the new year, I invite you to extend this practice to other areas, such as your business, your health and your social life.

Ep 43 - Does Your Family Feel Unloved

Episode 43: Does your family feel unloved

People are everything. A life spent in good company will always make us feel wealthier than any job, house or car can. This week I am meditating on how important it is to express love and gratitude to those people who make our lives better - it may seem obvious to us just how appreciated a loved one is, but very often they won't know until we tell them.

Tune in to this week's episode to reflect on how to express love and appreciation to those who matter. Abundance increases exponentially when shared - boost your wealthy life journey with some extra love.

Unique perspectives

I love the way Vicki brings her personal experiences to wealth management. This isn’t your cookie-cutter theoretical guide to financial health. Her unique perspectives will no doubt help many listeners.

JonnyPk ,

Practical tips

I love the way Vicki just discusses money & finances in everyday language with lots of practical tips and recommendations. Message today was get to know your family income v spending if not already aware. Don’t leave it to someone else ! Enjoyed the 3:33 tip … restarted using it today . I guess other readers will just have to listen to get that tip explained .
