A few years ago I was a broke, university dropout, living in one of the worst parts of the country, alone, with nothing but a laptop & a dream. Fast forward a few years, I’m the 29 year old ex CEO of one of the UK’s fastest growing companies. That company is called Social Chain. My world is intense, sometimes crazy, always challenging and always unpredictable. This podcast is simple, every week I’m going to share insights with you from guests with different backgrounds, experiences and learnings. I want to give you a look into what it’s like behind the scenes, being an entrepreneur, the deep, dark thoughts that nobody else will share with you and anything else that’s playing on my mind. This is not scripted and I don't have questions I just see where the conversation takes me. This is the diary of a CEO, I’m Steven Bartlett. I hope nobody is listening, but if you are… keep this to yourself.

Moment 42 - These 3 Things Will Make You Successful In Life: Jamil Qureshi

Moment 42 - These 3 Things Will Make You Successful In Life: Jamil Qureshi

Jamil Quresh is a high performance expert and psychologist. he's worked with some of the biggest businesses, sports teams and individuals to help them reach the highest level of performance.

In my mind Jamil's episode was probably one of the most valuable I've recorded. I struggle to think of a better encapsulation we’ve received of self progression and how to always have an attitude in life open to learning.

This is the episode to listen to if you want to learn how to better take responsibility in your own life, but more importantly what that means for your wider attitude. Especially having an open mind and being willing to experiment and try new things.

I learn from all of my guests, but I think what Jamil taught me is how to learn better. This is definitely an episode for you if you feel like you’ve recently been stuck or like life isn’t throwing up the opportunities you want. Because it isn’t just the opportunities you receive, but the ones you look for, and how ready you are for them when they arrive.

Moment 41 - The Reason You’re Feeling Stuck: Mel Robbins

In these ‘Moment’ episodes of my podcast, I’ll be selecting my favourite moments from previous episodes of The Diary Of A CEO.

Mel Robbins is the author of The Five Second Rule, a business woman, a life coach, and a sensation in the world of self improvement. Mel also runs a seven figure business which provides courses in self-improvement and life coaching. One of the most sought after motivational speakers in the world, Mel managed to turn around her boring, grey life into one that takes her all over the world meeting all types of inspiring people.

At a point in her life Mel was really struggling with depression, couldn’t get out of bed in the morning and generally just felt stuck in her life. Since then she’s been on a journey to understand why she felt like that and what actions needed to be taken to get her out of that place.

Today Mel uses those experiences of being in a dark place and dives into the reasons we might feel stuck in certain circumstances. She brings it down to one fundamental reason and what you can do practically to get yourself out of a situation that isn’t serving you.

E115: The “Winning Expert”: How To Become The Best You Can Be: Sir David Brailsford

E115: The “Winning Expert”: How To Become The Best You Can Be: Sir David Brailsford

Sir David Brailsford is the former Performance Director of British Cycling and current Team Principal of the Ineos Grenadiers, a professional cycling team that, along with its direct predecessor Team Sky, have won seven Tour De France titles since 2012.

David is behind the business and life philosophy of ‘marginal gains’, a belief that paying attention to every little detail, and then trying to improve it by 1%, will have massive compound benefits when added together.

Before David arrived at British Cycling, Britain was a relative backwater in the cycling world. Within a few years, he oversaw a team that won 8 out of 10 track medals at the olympic games. In this interview David opens up about the good times, and also the criticism he’s received, like never before.

    Topics:

    Your early years
    Getting into cycling
    Helping people find their motivation
    C.O.R.E
    First principles
    Forgetting about the result
How to build motivation after victory?
    How to make tough decisions
    Marginal gains
    The cost of your obsession
    Your cancer scare
    Undergoing Heart surgery
    Individual approach vs team approach

Moment 40 - The Solution To All Of Your Problems

Moment 40 - The Solution To All Of Your Problems

In these ‘Moment’ episodes of my podcast, I’ll be selecting my favourite moments from previous episodes of The Diary Of A CEO.

This week we’re jumping back to episode 47, a solo episode where I talk about a simple solution that can help us get out of our own heads and overcome a tough situation.

If you ever feel trapped by your circumstances, this is the podcast for you. What’s crucial to understand is that you can’t control your environment, but you can control how you deal with it.

It’s through hard and challenging experiences that I’ve been able to build my own resilience using these methods. I want this podcast to go out to someone out there who’s in a similar situation but doesn’t know what to do.

Life changing

I came across this podcast very late. I heard Steven on the ‘How To Fail’ podcast and just loved everything he was saying. I have since followed him on all social media sites and am a huge fan. I’ve only listened to the first few podcasts which he’s done on his own, but I’m aware this format changes slightly as he’s since interviewed many famous faces. He’s inspired me to keep a diary and just jot down my thoughts, which I’ve stuck to! Hugely inspiring!! @mrs_sks

Amazing is an understatement 🙌

Love how raw and unedited this podcast is! Only came across it by chance when I was looking for something new to listen to in the morning on my commute to work and have been binge listening ever-since. Recommend it to anyone, from all walks of life!

Life Changing

Having operated at a Senior level within Technology, I hit 40 and started to feel “burnt” mentally, physically and emotionally. Listening to the amazing guests, talking about experiences I can relate to and how to deal with things, has been truly life changing.
Adopting a number of the processes and principles discussed on these podcasts has seen my health improve, my focus is clearer than ever, and I have real energy & passion in my daily work.
Thank you so much for this podcast.
