Arcam is hét centrum voor architectuur in Amsterdam. We organiseren programma’s rondom architectuur en stadsontwikkeling. Onze tentoonstellingen, debatten, podcasts en onderzoeksprojecten zijn toegankelijk, maar kritisch; bewust van de historie, maar met de blik op de toekomst gericht. Arcam is the architecture centre of Amsterdam. We organise programmes about architecture and urban development. Our exhibitions, debates, podcasrs and research projects are accessible, yet critical; mindful of history, but with an outlook towards the future.

    In de podcastserie 'Architectuur voor iedereen' verkent ontwerper en maker Mimi Oldenhave het thema toegankelijkheid. Het jaarthema van 2023 bij Arcam was 'Architectuur voor iedereen', gericht op het bevorderen van toegankelijkheid binnen de architectuur. In this episode, Architect and researcher Afaina de Jong talks to Nirmal Puwar. Puwar joined the Sociology Department at the University of London in 2003. She has a longstanding interest in bodies and space, her book Space Invaders: race, gender and bodies out of place (2004), generated a conceptual framework for considering the conditions of inclusion within institutions. Afaina de Jong is Arcam's Architect in Residence from November 2020 to April 2021 and in search of the meaning of a feminist spatial practice.
