    Arsecast Extra Episode 581 - 22.04.2024

    Arsecast Extra Episode 581 - 22.04.2024

In this episode we look back on the 2-0 win at Wolves on Saturday evening which put us back on top of the Premier League. We discuss how Arsenal had to dig deep after a difficult week, but put in a performance that belied the tired legs, despite the fact we had to wait until late to seal the three points. We chat about Leandro Trossard's goal, whether Wolves should have had a red card, David Raya's excellent save, and how Mikel Arteta asked a lot of key men like Odegaard, Rice and Saka and how they delivered. Then we answer questions about goals from set-pieces, which position should be prioritised in the summer transfer window, how the manager rotates his squad (or chooses not to), and lots more – including details of our end of season live podcast event with our friends from the ArsenalVision podcast.

    Arsecast Extra Episode 580 - 18.04.2024

In this one part episode (without Qs in part 2), we look back at Arsenal's Champions League exit, going down 1-0 to Bayern Munich last night. Once again, the second half was below par and we paid the price. We examine the reasons as to why that has been an issue in our last two games, and what Mikel Arteta can do about it in terms of his squad building going forward. There's chat about fatigue and heavy legs, the players we brought on from the bench and the players who stayed on it, what we can learn from this European campaign, how this collective probably needs a smattering of individualism for big games like last night, the striker discussion, and lots more.

    Arsecast Extra Episode 579 - 15.04.2024

In this episode we look back at the 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday which, despite being our first loss of 2024, has caused a significant amount frustration and disappointment. Arsecast Extra Episode 578 - 10.04.2024

In this episode we look back at the 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich on Wednesday night. Arsenal went ahead, but carelessness handed two goals the opposition, before Leandro Trossard equalised late in the second half. We discuss all the big moments, from team selection, to the potential red card for Harry Kane, the penalty incidents at both ends, and the Gunners overall display on the night. Arsecast Extra Episode 577 - 07.04.2024

In this episode we look back at Arsenal's impressive 3-0 win over Brighton on Saturday evening. We talk about the risk/reward nature of the Gunners approach against this particular opposition, and how having adjusted slightly early in the first half, the opposition threat was more or less negated. We analyse the penalty incident and the goals we scored, the man of the match performance from Kai Havertz, and the way we settled into a comfortable defensive system after going 2-0 up. There's also chat about Leandro Trossard scoring against his former club, what this result means in the context of the weekend's results, as well as listener questions about how Havertz's development at centre-forward might influence summer transfer business, left-back for Bayern and Jakub Kiwior, Gabriel's Player of the Season credentials, Martin Odegaard's importance and lots more.

Episode 779 - The Ben White Experience

Episode 779 - The Ben White Experience

In this episode I'm joined first by Ryan Hunn to discuss Arsenal's 2-0 win over Luton on Wednesday evening. We chat about the changes Mikel Arteta made to his team, and some of the selection decisions – not least Emile Smith Rowe getting a rare start in midfield, and making a telling contribution to the result. We also discuss how the second half felt versus the reality of the game, some of the mainstays in team who helped support the players who came in, whether the left back position is one to keep an eye on in the summer, and more.
Then I chat to Elliot Smith from the ArsenalVision Podcast about their annual fundraiser for the Arsenal Foundation, including a clip from Leah Williamson, and info about how and what is being done to positive impact the lives of so many people through the prism of Arsenal.

The best

The best Arsenal podcast out there. Insightful, entertaining, informative and the odd bit of Arsenal bias. There’s a reason these guys win awards for their content. Long may it continue.
