SOUNDS THAT CAN'T BE MADE - Part 4
At last, we get around to completing our retrospective of Marillion's Sounds That Can't Be Made. And it's a bumper edition... which not only contains our take on Montreal, Invisible Ink, Lucky Man and Sky Above The Rain, but dredges up a few hefty chunks of our souls, while Sanja enjoys an ill-advised flirtation with AI research...

Where Do Marillion Belong?
This ep was inspired by some damning criticism of Marillion. We discuss what it is that set them apart from their early-80s Neo-prog peers... before asking where they belong today. And stay tuned for our new podcast - The Prog Paddock!

Dave Meegan - Interviewed!
In our big end-of-year episode, we interview the legend that is Dave Meegan. He first worked with Marillion on Fugazi, then returned as producer on Brave, Afraid of Sunlight, Anoraknophobia and Marbles. We discuss all this and much more in a very open, honest and funny chat.

It’s another number one…
Informative, funny, enlightening and sometimes challenging are a few words I can think of to describe BYAMPOD. Paul and Sanja never cease to entertain and, above all, they always make me laugh and smile. The tangential, gently meandering journey through Marillion’s back catalogue is the perfect tonic for the hustle and bustle of everyday life and the antidote to world weariness, while the research and work put it in to deliver a long-running and highly regarded podcast cannot be faulted. The high-profile guest appearances are testament to that dedication and professionalism.
Above all, what’s refreshing is the carefully-considered honesty. With almost every episode I come away with empathy, understanding and an acknowledgement that I’m not alone experiencing the same feelings about the music that has been an integral part of my life since I was 10 but, just importantly as we’re the same age, life events and a very similar world view. For that I can only thank you and long may BYAMPOD continue!
Brilliant
Stumbled over this podcast earlier this year….. had no real interest in Marillion at all until I heard Paul and Sanja talking about their love for the band. And now I have been buying their back catalogue across 2023 and so far have enjoyed every album I have purchased. And yes that includes Marillion.com.
