Answering Listeners Curious Questions, Insights About Entrepreneurial Couples, and Why James Refuses to Pay a Government Fine!

In this episode of Business Marriage, we answer all of your burning questions about being partners in both the things we love and our marriage (I mean businesses)!

We cover questions around how we handle the kids around the business (though it really should be the other way round!), which of us is “the angry one”, and did James mention that he ran the marathon recently? All inspired by listener submitted questions - that’s you lot!

From George becoming a ‘cockney’, to James being fined with a £354 ULEZ charge that wasn’t his fault, we try to make sense of our lives and -sort of- answer some of your questions whilst doing it. Such as, why on earth do we share the same playlist if we don’t even work in the same building?!

Listen to our conversation with Laura and Jeff Brunton: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/business-marriage/id1671237539?i=1000651830114

In this episode you will hear about:

    Who’s asking the questions here?

Is it OK to talk about business around the kids?

Are we having a positive impact on our children?

    How we handle conflict

Does living and working together affect ‘the romance’?

Who puts the bins out? Is it a spoken thing?

What inspired us to become entrepreneurs?

Why I Fired my own Wife! (And why that’s a good thing!)

Why I Fired my own Wife! (And why that’s a good thing!)

Well well, what do we have here?! First we find out James went and fired Hayley, even though she's his wife and co-host. And then, to really rub salt in the wound, he hires some fancy new designer to replace her immediately!

The mug of the week was awarded to poor Mark, who had quite the embarrassing car trouble story to share. Turns out all he needed to do was push the clutch, but it took him weeks of tinkering to figure out!

The small business shout out was for T-Rex Table (https://www.trextball.com), a baseball coaching service for kids run by a former Team GB coach. The boys have been having a ball at the sessions each week learning new skills in a fun, inclusive environment.

James recounted a chaotic weekend watching the kids, from multiple breakfasts to milkshake mishaps. Haley laughed at his parenting struggles after a relaxing spa trip.
