Our goal is to create a space for people to tell their personal stories, inspire and empower others to think outside the box. Find CONNECTING PEOPLE on Instagram @connectingpeoplepodcast

e023 Ryan Mario Yasin: Implementing aeronautical engineering in fashion

Listen to Ryan Mario Yasin, a 27-year-old design engineer with a background in aeronautics. Ryan invented, photographed, and promoted his brand Petit Pli in 2017, while he was a Global Innovation Design student. Since graduating in 2017, he has evolved Petit Pli’s designs from a proof of concept to a patent-pending commercially available design.

Ryan’s motivation to engineer a solution that reduces waste in childrenswear was inspired by his nephew. The realization brought light to the fact that childrenswear on the market is miniaturized adult clothing; design unfit for their users.

To realize Petit Pli, Ryan set out to understand the needs of parents, children, retailers, and manufacturers to create a novel design using his understanding of deployable satellites and origami structures.

Thought-provoking!

So amazing to get an insight into a personal professional journey! It is refreshing to hear that you dont have to choose between career roles and other social roles (mum/wife etc). Love the light-hearted take on deep subjects
