Best college football pod out there

Love the pod Danny= ex player insight Bud = recruiting insight Tom = Big10, gambling and European football comparisons Chip= glues it together and vibes Question: for what position coach would you take less NIL to play for eg Hartline for WR ? Also how good a job does Ohio state do finding the weak spot in the south to get recruits. Saban leaves they get a couple top players from Bama. Remember they did the same in Texas before the longhorns were “back”
Hostility
17/04/2024
Hi guys from the south coast of England. Long-time listener, still disappointed I can’t pick up DK’s breakfast show over here, even if it would actually be lunchtime. My question is about stadiums. This weekend I will be following my soccer team AFC Bournemouth to one of Tom’s spiritual haunts at Villa Park. It’s an atmospheric stadium in a pretty grim part of town, and the walk to it as a visiting fan is past a couple of intimidating pubs. So I’d like to know which campuses are the most ‘hostile’ to road teams, whether rivals or not. Cheers, Andy in Bournemouth
Mailbag Question - Love the Pod
10/01/2024
Hey all, Love the Podcast from the UK. My question is given that Michigan has in recent years produced most of its best players along the lines of scrimmage and has not had receivers that are especially dominant do we think that it is easier to develop elite line of scrimmage players over elite receivers from unheralded recruits. Following on, if so would another programme seeking to replicate the results of their development over recruiting strategy also have to replicate their style of play. Or do we think that their style of play is simply Harbaugh’s preference and a development orientated programme could win it all by emphasising the passing game not their run game and defence approach? Anyway love the pod and best of luck to you guys, Ollie

Long time NFL fan since the mid 80’s, decided this year that I wanted to get into the college game. Started listening to Cover 3 this off-season on the advice from a friend that was ‘you’ve got to hear how this guy says NEXT’ 😂🤣 On a more serious note, the chemistry between the guys is brilliant, the analysis is top draw and they all bring their analysis from slightly different angles which make the pod the complete package IMHO. Never miss an instance reaction or upon further review episode but they’re all great, love it! Big Old Bag of Mail - Lads, as I have mentioned in my review I am very new to the college game and as yet I haven’t yet selected a team to follow. Could you pick one for me…and I will blindly follow your decision! My future college football fandom is in your hands, no pressure! Keep up the amazing work!
Best CFB podcast bar none.

Gentlemen, greetings from England! Love the podcast and it’s currently providing a welcome companion during my London Marathon training. Quick mailbag question - which one of y’all was it voted for Barton’s Commodores to win the SEC at media days…?!
Clearly the best.

Hey guys, born and raised in England I’m one of those odd folks who fell in love with college football (and bizarrely the Stanford Cardinal) about a decade ago and I haven’t looked back since. I was always a loyal listener of ESPNs college football podcast with Ivan Maisel but when that show got cancelled I was left searching for a regular college football podcast to listen to. In the run up to the 2021 season I decided I’d give a few shows a try and stumbled across yours. I’m so glad I did. This is easily the best college football podcast I’ve ever listened to and probably the best football podcast. The combination of chemistry between the four hosts, along with genuine insight into how the game works behind the scenes is unmatched. My question… in recent years the pac-12 has fallen a long way behind the other power 5 conference’s, particularly the SEC and Big10. Do you think this is something that can be reversed, or do geographical constraints and cultural ties to the sport limit the ceiling of the pac-12?
One year out

Hey guys, great effort with all the emergency pods. My question is this. Before 2020 the much-lamented Barton (RIP) had the Pokes in his preseason Playoff. Now a year later they have risen up. Is there a team that was highly-rated but disappointing this year (Hello Iowa State) which ‘looks’ weaker next year but might surprise us?

Big fan of the podcast helping me to get under the skin of college football from the other side of the Atlantic here in the UK. QUESTION How has NIL affected the power of boosters in college football programs? How many NIL deals are booster payments legitimised versus genuine marketing propositions? Thank you for your wonderful work. Phil Lynch North Wales United Kingdom
Group of Death
10/08/2021
Hi guys, Great pod - always look forward to hearing you on my commute. I really enjoyed Tom’s idea for a Champions league style competition when talking about the future of college football One of my favourite parts of the CL is watching the group draw live and seeing who draws who. I LOVE to see a group of death. According to the end of season college football rankings, who would your group of death be from last season? You can take one team from ranking 1 thru 4, 5 thru 8, 9 thru 12 and 13 through 16. My group of death is Alabama (1), Sooners (6), Northwestern (10), Florida (13). Would love to know your thoughts. Cheers, Liam

Greetings from the other side of the Atlantic where your podcasts brighten even the gloomiest of Scottish skies. As someone who has coached college and under 19s football in the UK (there's very very little school football) it's always interesting to see talented athletes going across the pond and trying their hand in college football and the NFL, although, there have been a very small number of players to even get game time on Sundays. Aside from the more common international recruits being signed up to kick and punt in college ball, the last time I checked there were around 20 European recruits starting their college football careers with FBS programs this year and this number seems to creep up every year. Many of these players are not coming directly from European football or other sports, spending time with US high schools or the likes of the IMG Academy but, we've also seen the CFL hold International tryouts and a draft in the past 12 months plus, the likes of Geoff Collins and his Georgia Tech staff engaging with the British coaches and their coaches association in recent years for what can't simply be altruistic purposes, to develop the sport abroad. So, are we about to see an increasing trend of international recruits to the FBS level? Colleges often look to recruit exceptional athletes to mould into football players. With technology making the world smaller, could we see the world's athletic talent recruited away from other sports? Are there opportunities here for lower level FBS teams to spread their recruiting scope or would they be spreading already small resources too thin? Or is college football still to stuck in it's ways to look further afield...for now? Keep up the good work Al
