We then hear from a member if the audience who came seeking some opinions on a potential criminal engagement and some group support... she came to the right place!

    194 Samira Ahmed's Newsround

    194 Samira Ahmed's Newsround

Welcome to this week's episode of Drunk Women Solving Crime, which welcomes journalist and broadcaster Samira Ahmed as a very able member of the force!
Samira starts things-off with a duo of crimes which although serious in subject, are important to discuss - not least because one of them highlights that Samira ALWAYS knew what her vocation would be and she had the badge to prove it!
We then all get stuck into a crime that may or may not be the result of the police not believing women can be funny, or some very old sandwiches - see what you think!
And finally, this week's listener crime will make anyone organising a stag or hen do really up their game!
And in other news, Drunk Women Solving Crime has been nominated in TWO categories in this year's British Podcast Awards!
The team are thrilled to be up for Best Comedy AND Best Live Show....
Talking of which, if *you* want to catch some award nominated live show content, then come and see DWSC live when they appear at this year's Underbelly Festival in London on 21st July. You can also catch them at Edinburgh Fringe 2022 from 5th - 14th August AND they will be appearing around the UK throughout Autumn.

193 Celya AB & Her Spoons Stakeout

The Drunk Women are back in the studio, popping corks left, right and centre with this week's fantastic guest, comedian Celya AB!
Celya starts off proceedings with the time she went full Joker in order to catch the people who took her bank card, this is the origin story we REALLY wanted.
The team then look into a story of a grifter who wore many hats in his criminal career, even through he was a slack hatter before his criminal endeavours.
We then hear from a listener whose story has less than a peachy conclusion thanks to our team of detectives...in this case they *might* have made things worse...
Come and see the Drunk Women LIVE in 2022, they're in London on June 17th and July 21st, back at Edinburgh Fringe 5th-14th August AND about to announce dates across the UK this autumn. For full details and tickets, go to drunkwomensolvingcrime.com

192 DWSC LIVE: With Lucy Pearman

192 DWSC LIVE: With Lucy Pearman

It's another DWSC residency show, where things got raucous and a smashing time was had by all, including this week's hilarious guest, comedian, and Mother Goose, Lucy Pearman!
Lucy kicks things off with a childhood reverie of past love from afar, which resulted in a very eggy crime, possibly involving Ben Affleck.
We then hear about a case, which comes in a variety of different parts, and shows the police might need to invest in better torches.
Finally, as always round things off with an audience member who has a crime to solve - this week, it's a pile of pants.
Come and see the DWSC LIVE at their final London Residency of 2022 on Friday17th June!
They are also appearing on a variety of dates around the country, including The Underbelly Festival in London on 21st July and at this year's Edinburgh Fringe.

    191: DWSC LIVE: With Sikisa

    191: DWSC LIVE: With Sikisa

It's another night at the DWSC London residency, where a packed-audience gathered to hear first hand of a crime inflicted on this week's guest just moments before she appeared on stage!
Yes, comedian and writer Sikisa joins the team with a true crime story still hot off the press and with a fantastic sense for sleuthing out some cut price Edinburgh accommodation when the opportunity arises.
Taylor then takes the team stateside for a crime so New York it practically arrives in a yellow taxi!
We then hear from audience member David, who aside from being a friend of the show, is also a friend to people selling pretty much anything on EBay!
Come to the final DWSC London residency of 2022 at The Covent Garden Studios on June 17th!
You can also join the team from the comfort of your own home at their next zoom record on 8th June 2022.

190 Rosalind Blessed Will Wait For You

190 Rosalind Blessed Will Wait For You

Joining the Drunk Women for much merriment and mirth is the incredible actor, writer & podcaster, Rosalind Blessed!
In what turns-out to be a very 'second record', we start by hearing from Rosalind about a crime for which she gives us the naked-facts and which also allows her to display a pretty good background in sleuthing - welcome to the force!
The whole gang then looks at a case, which not only inspired one of the greatest stories in literature, but also one could argue (if you're Catie), the plot of Jaws!
We then hear from a listener about a mystery which could win those involved an Oscar - although probably more worthy of a TV Quick Award if properly examined, either way, it's a proper drama!

Join the Drunk Women for a record LIVE over Zoom on Wednesday 8th June 2022 - £3 to Patreons, or £5 per ticket!
You can also come to their final London Residency of 2022, on Friday (or FriYAY) 17th June .

Ben (he/him) ,

Loving the show!

Loving the show! I have a listener crime that just passed my mind.

Dear Drunk Women,
A long time ago when I was working in the menswear department at a well known fashion retailer. I came across a pair of mens underwear strewn across the floor. I thought a customer had pulled them out of the packaging. I went to pick them up to return them to my packaging however on closer inspection they were not a brand that we sell. My only guess is that a customer had taken the package to the fitting rooms, switched their underwear and took off. But why?

Neither myself, my colleagues or my manager could figure out why someone would do this, can you help me, Drunk Women?

Drunk Women Live is indeed better!

I have loved DWSC since I first started listening to them in the first lockdown - I think they may have saved my sanity - and went to see them last month. The podcast is fab but the live version is Ab Fab! Also, I’m going to the live show tomorrow (28th April) and have a choice of two listener crimes for Hannah, Catie and Taylor to solve - either the time I was punched by an old woman at a traffic light, or the time I was almost recruited into what I think was a cult….

Laughing is addictive

Started listening a couple of years ago and love it. It does brighten my day and tend to snort-laugh at least once during the episode.

I wonder if you’d like my listener crime…a few years ago me and my friends went to a comic-con in Liverpool. It was fun, lots of memorabilia, collectibles and odd people wearing odd costumes. One of the most memorable was some fella dressed head to toe in a Scooby-Doo style ghost costume. We had a fabulous time and spent some money. We used cash because we weren’t sure if the vendors would have working card machines but still had my purse with card in. This was on a Saturday, then the Monday after, I got a call from my bank to say my card might have been stolen, I told them that it hadn’t and I’d just used it to book some tickets to a gin tasting. It turned out that the card had been cloned and someone had tried to buy some designer clothes from Debenhams in Manchester. It got sorted but tell me, Did it get cloned at the comic con and Was it Mr Scooby Doo Ghost?
