Ep 24: Lauren & Jess (The Cares Family) on bringing the young and old back together

Do Good Podcast

In this episode, I visited Lauren & Jess from The Cares Family to find out about the wonderful work they are doing bringing young professionals and older neighbours together to help overcome loneliness. Cares all started through a random interaction when its founder Alex met an isolated neighbour Fred in London and took him for his first haircut in 3 months. This started a change reaction which has lead to over 15,000 older and younger people being paired up over the past 8 years. It’s the real-life stories that are really heartwarming and there’s plenty of inspiring ones shared in this episode for you to enjoy. And when you delve a little deeper and understand the effects loneliness has on our overall health and welling you get it even more how important this charity is to the communities it supports.
