EveryMan: The Masculinity in Cinema Podcast

Kat and Martyn have a very natural chemistry as co-presenters. I say that because their discussions are far from scripted and exacting. You get the distinct impression that new discoveries and thoughts are happening during the recording of each episode. That’s not to say they are winging it. Far from it. Kat and Martyn are two seasoned writers on film and their love of the medium comes across very strongly. What struck me most was how an attempt to analyse and deconstruct iconic representations of maleness and masculinity is inexplicably linked to class. Such a refreshing way to deal with gender. Given the hosts are British, I hope they get to tackle some British films like GET CARTER or THE LONG GOOD FRIDAY. Regardless… a valuable addition to the film discussion space. Lend it your ears.
