    You know what, Luka...

    You know what, Luka...

Marcus, Jim and Pete grab some front row seats on the England hype train, as we ruthlessly put Croatia to our (quite blunt) sword.

After deserved praise for the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Raheem Sterling, we turn our attentions to the Goran Pandev fountain of youth and a right humdinger between Ukraine and the Netherlands.

    Much love, Christian

    Much love, Christian

Kate, Andy and Jim reflect on the harrowing events of yesterday involving Denmark’s Christian Eriksen and the truly commendable actions of the medical staff and players from both Denmark and Finland.

We also look over Wales’ performance that earned them an impressive point against Switzerland and Belgium’s ruthless dispatching of Russia, thanks to two more goals from Romelu Lukaku.

    Who's Nessun Dorma?

    Who's Nessun Dorma?

The Euros got underway last night, with those Italian suits too sharp for Turkey's wall of meat.

Jules, Andy and Jim revel in the return of international football on the first of our daily episodes across the group stage! As well as praising Italy, we wonder about the fortunes of Belgium's Golden Generation (who'd have one of those...) and try to temper both the worry and the excitement around England's meeting with Croatia on Sunday.

Bruno Lage's arrival, the Maurizio Sarri revival, and Super League survival

Bruno Lage's arrival, the Maurizio Sarri revival, and Super League survival

Portugal's gradual takeover of English and European football continues apace, with Bruno Lage freshening things up at Wolves and Spurs in advanced talks with the man their former boss just replaced. Best of luck, Paulo Fonseca...

Kate, Andy and Jim also check in with the latest movers and shakers, as Lazio snag Maurizio Sarri and Chelsea are bidding for players already. Turns out those fines for joining the Super League are a drop in an otherwise enormous ocean.

Gareth Southgate makes us proud, Florentino Pérez comes hat in hand, and Murderball on the streets of Leeds

Gareth Southgate makes us proud, Florentino Pérez comes hat in hand, and Murderball on the streets of Leeds

With just a few days before the Euros starts, Kate's optimism has reached fever pitch. Luke and Jim try their best to keep her feet on the ground, but Gareth Southgate's statesman-like conduct and Phil Foden's new hair are just more fuel on the raging fire.

International football's kept us warm in the meantime, as Olivier Giroud closes in on a record and Ireland draw in Hungary. Elsewhere, Marcelo Bielsa has been coaching a local U11's team and Florentino Pérez wants to rent Atlético's stadium - because he spent Real Madrid's entire fortune on David Alaba's contract.

Ramble Glory

Luke: Married with cats, clearly used to smoke loads of weed.
Marcus: Can play football and Sven stuff.
Pete: Wildcard, beautiful, Japan.
Jim: Funny, used to be sad, now buff.
Jules: Queen, swears.
Andy: Clever, Womble.
Kate: Laughs too much, violin, clever clever.
Vish: Name, funny, Honda Jazz.

Listened for 10 years. Hundreds maybe thousands of hours of absolute gold.
I think Kate needs to listen to herself back a bit more so we can move on a bit and she can up her game from laughing constantly, I find myself skipping her episodes fairly regularly when she gets a bit much, whereas Vish, Andy and Jules have made the pod even better, I hope as a team they have an idea idea how much joy they bring. I can’t give anything less than 5 stars simply because of how much I have enjoyed the content, I just pray that the growth of the pod navigates their apparent refusal to accept criticism sometimes. Never stop rambling.

Was great, now average

I started listening to the ramble back in 2011/12. I loved the chemistry between the original 4, the quality of football analysis was always second to that. The show has lost its usp since changing format. I like the new guys, but the constant changing of presenters every day means they don’t have the same chemistry they used to and the quality of football analysis remains average. The Ramble Presents podcast episodes tend to be much better.

Used to be the pinnacle

Long time listener. Used to be the best podcast around. Still enjoy it but nowhere near as much. The original four are what everyone wants to hear. Jules brings a good dynamic and Vish is a good addition. Andy is just a bit dull. I’m one for obscure anecdotes from Europe but he almost stances himself as “how obscure can I go” and I can’t imagine many people find it interesting. I think most the reviews reflect the wider views on Kate. There’s only so many times that being privately school educated, posh and lacking in cultural references can be deemed funny. And it’s not many, trust me. Don’t really see why the original four are never on pods together any more. It’s a big shame.
