    Making History with Sunnie Delilah

On this episode, I am joined by boss babe, founder and CEO of Delilah's Dressing Room - Sunnie Delilah.  Join us on this conversation as we discuss the inspiration behind the launch of Delilah's Dressing Room, how Sunnie balances running a full time business whilst being a mother to an adorable 3 year old whilst also talking about what advice she would have for her younger self.  We also speak in depth about her recent accomplishments such as being listed as a woman of positive influence and creativity for representing how different groups and society has adapted during the pandemic and most importantly, the launch of her own turban and long beard masks - which were a massive success globally. Sunnie's creation of facemasks aimed at a minority have been recognised widely by being exhibited in museums - making history and creating a legacy.   It was an absolute pleasure having Sunnie on the pod, her ability to be super authentic whilst remaining humble about her achievements was amazing to see. Genuinely enjoyed speaking to her and felt like we could speak forever - extremely proud of her for all of these achievements and wishing her all the best for future endeavours.  Sunnie Delilah: https://www.instagram.com/sunniedelilah/?hl=en  Delilahs Dressing Room: https://www.instagram.com/delilahsdressingroom/?hl=en https://delilahsdressingroom.com/ Gratitude Talks: https://www.instagram.com/gratitudetalkspodcast/ Host: https://www.instagram.com/jaassii.k/

Death, Divorce & Depression with Anjli

On this episode, I am joined by content creator, influencer and blogger - Anjli from Anjlislookbook. Join us on this conversation as we discuss the pressure influencers face on social media and the 3 D's - death, divorce and depression. Anjli opens up about one of the hardest years in her life - 2020, where she experienced the unexpected death of her cousin, a divorce and went through depression and how she turned that to resilience, growth and gratitude. We speak about the topic of grief and how to cope with people being intrusive about the cause of death. We also discuss the taboo subject of divorce within the South-Asian community and the impact depression and anxiety can have on an individual - during this conversation, we also discuss therapy and antidepressants.  It was an absolute pleasure for Anjli to come on the pod as her authenticity allows us to gain a deeper insight into her raw and resilient story. Extremely proud of this woman as it takes a lot of courage to share this but we know that there are so many people out there who can relate and slowly but surely we can all together break such stereotypes. Proud of you Anj, keep shining!  Anjlislookbook: https://www.instagram.com/anjlislookbook/?hl=en Fundraising link for Zoe's Baby Hospice: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/anjlis-look-book-zoesplacebabyhospice   Gratitude Talks: https://www.instagram.com/gratitudetalkspodcast/ Host: https://www.instagram.com/jaassii.k/

    The Farmers Protest

#NoFarmersNoFood. The Farmers Protest is currently taking place in India - it has been regarded as the largest protest in human history. During these peaceful protests, a number of human right violations have taken place such as attacking the protesters with tear gas, media blackouts, cutting off their fresh water supply and so much more. It's heartbreaking to see our farmers stand up for their basic rights and be absolute victims to a system that is so unjust. These protests have been taking place since September 2020 and not much has been done to resolve this since, therefore it's essential we continuously support the farmers.  "Education is the movement from darkness to light" Education is a very powerful tool and with the events taking place in India and farmers protesting since September last year it’s so important to understand exactly why this is happening and to shed as much light onto this. Especially now more than ever, considering there are a number of human right violations that have also taken place. On this episode I am joined by Prabhjot Seehra, we believe that educating ourselves as a society and gaining a deeper understanding of what is happening right now is absolutely imperative. Join us on this conversation as Prabhjot passionately explains the deep rooted history behind the visible and invisible wars on Sikhs, it's vital to firstly understand the history of injustices that our people have had to face and why enough is enough. He then breaks down the 3 agricultural laws and how they directly impact the farmers, we then talk about the solutions and what we as a community can be doing right now to be actively involved in this movement. This is a powerful episode with the aim to provide a detailed insight on why the farmers are protesting and help educate everyone listening as we believe this knowledge is vital. This may be slightly longer than usual, however we attempt to give you all the best overview. A special thank you to Jaslin Uppal for the questions and Jaspreet Singh from Singh Style Designs for the trailer cover art.
