EP58. Raw beauty revealed
Raw beauty skincare can be bundled with on-trend beauty niches such as clean beauty, green beauty and even blue beauty. It is a subset of these but takes a unique approach to formulation which starts at the beginning of a product's lifecycle with the sourcing of ingredients. Our podcast guest Nadine Artemis, founder of Living Libations, has spent 25 years making raw beauty her mission. She defines her raw beauty skincare philosophy and approach to podcast host Lorraine Dallmeier.
EP57. Do Natural Deodorants Work? Discussing Sweat, Shame & Body Image
Do natural deodorants work? If you have tried natural deodorants and been disappointed by their performance in combating sweat and body odor, then this episode of Green Beauty Conversations will be a real eye opener. Today's taboos and societal conditioning have put paid to us broaching the subject of sweat in a reasoned way. To unpack the discourse on sweat, shame & body image, we speak to Ada Juristovski, co-Founder and CMO of Nala Care, a natural, personalised deodorant brand based in Vancouver, Canada.
EP56. Are indie beauty brands falling behind on sustainability?
Do small, indie beauty brands have the capabilities to build sustainability into their businesses and make a profit?
While big beauty companies may have the cash to splash on reports and in publicising their sustainability credentials, there are plenty of opportunities for indie beauty to make a difference.
In this episode of Green Beauty Conversations, we discuss why the beauty industry is perhaps tackling sustainability from the wrong perspective and where indie beauty brands can have an edge.
EP55. Can Green Makeup Go Mainstream? A Panel Discussion
It's a first for this podcast to talk about green makeup, but behind the scenes, our research and development team is working on an organic makeup formulation course. A question we asked at the start of our R&D was whether green makeup could take on mainstream colour cosmetics as a viable alternative? Our two expert panelists in this episode - one a green makeup entrepreneur and brand owner; the other an accomplished makeup artist and blogger - respond to the criticisms leveled at green colour cosmetics.
EP54. What is Blue Beauty?
You've heard of green beauty, you've heard of clean beauty, but have you ever heard of blue beauty? In the last 12 months, the beauty industry has started to talk more about environmental sustainability and one of the new terms that has emerged is Blue Beauty. Formula Botanica interviews Jennie Jarnot, founder of Beauty Heroes which has set up its 'Project Blue Beauty'. In this episode, we bring you the low-down on blue beauty, how it differs from green beauty and what it means for brands and consumers.

Excellent, informative podcast
The subject of being more mindful in my Beauty habits has been on my mind recently, and this podcast has been the perfect companion for helping demystify a lot of the ‘noise’ around what’s good and bad. I find the subjects covered fascinating, and the podcast is informative and really well delivered. Now tempted to do a course to learn more... :)
