    For this episode we spoke to Siobhan Maher Kennedy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siobhan_Maher_Kennedy). Siobhan is possibly best known as the singer with Liverpool band, River City People, as well as being a Children’s TV presenter (http://www.thebroomcupboard.co.uk/siobhan.html) and actress. River City People released two albums in the late 80s and early 90s; Say Something Good and This Is The World. They had their biggest chart success with a cover of California Dreamin’, originally released by Mamas and Papas. After the band split, Siobhan joined Kindred Spirit with Debbie Peterson of the Bangles. For the last 26 years, Siobhan has lived in Nashville, USA where she is married to record producer, Ray Kennedy. Her first solo album, Immigrant Flower, co-produced by Ray and Steve Earle, was released to critical acclaim in 2002.     Emily Barker - I Wish I Wrote That Song

    For this episode we spoke to UK based, Australian artist Emily Barker (https://www.emilybarker.com),  just after the release of her single, Return Me, Since her debut album, Photos.Fire. Fables in 2007, she has worked as a solo artist, with her band The Red Clay Halo, and has had many collaborations including the Applewood Road album and recently A Window To Other Ways with Marry Waterson. Emily is also known for the BAFTA award winning theme song for Kenneth Brannagh’s TV  series, Wallander. She also received an Ivor Novello for the TV theme tune to The Shadow Line. We spoke to Emily about her newly discovered love for writing poetry, songwriting, and of course,  the song she wish she wrote, a song by Carole King from Tapestry recorded in the early 70s.     Jade McInally is the singer, songwriter and guitarist with four piece Australian band, Jade Imagine (https://www.jadeimagine.com/). The band made a real impression on ‘I Wish I Wrote That Song’ presenter Keith Wyatt when they supported Julia Jacklin on tour in the UK, towards the end of 2018. We talked to Jade about her new EP, ‘You Remind Me Of Something I Lost’, covering the Tiny Ruins song ‘Dream Wave’ for the Milk On Milk album and of course, the song she wish she wrote, a song by Sibylle Baier released in 2006, almost 30 years after it was originally recorded.. The new EP was the follow-up to the critically acclaimed ‘Basic Love’ album released in 2019. As with all of their releases to date, the EP was produced by band member, Tim Harvey. Enjoy listening!     For this episode we spoke to Manchester band, PINS (https://www.wearepins.co.uk), just before the release of their new album, Hot Slick. We talked to the band about launching their new album during a global pandemic, collaborating with Iggy Pop and of course, the song they wish they wrote, a song by Suicide released in 1988. We both first saw PINS at Sheffield’s, Tramlines Festival in 2013. They were on a really cool bill with another of our favourites, Skylarkin. As well as successful tours in their own right, PINS have had high profile tours with the likes of Maximo Park, Sleater Kinney, Wire and Best Coast. Enjoy listening!     Charles Watson - I Wish I Wrote That Song

    For this episode, we spoke to Charles Watson (https://charleswatson.bandcamp.com/music), member of Sheffield band Slow Club (https://www.facebook.com/slowclub/). Charles’ debut solo album “Now That I Am A River” was released  in 2018 leading UK independent label, Moshi Moshi. The album was released to critical acclaim and was named one of the albums of the year by BBC Radio 6 Music presenter, Lauren Laverne. Slow Club were a successful indie band, spanning a period of almost 10 years. They released four albums from “Yeah So” in 2009 through to “One Day All Of This Won’t Matter Anymore” in 2016. An award winning documentary of their last tour “Our Most Brilliant Friends”, was released in 2019 We talked to Charles about writing music for film, demoing his next album, and of course the song he wish he wrote, a song by Bob Dylan.     Alessi’s Ark (https://www.facebook.com/Alessisarkmusic/) is the brainchild of Alessi Laurent-Marke. After various band formations over the last 10 years or so, Alessi is now joined by Jason Santos on keys, programming and making planters for their balcony. During our conversation, we discussed recording Alessi’s debut album in Nebraska, the new EP, Truth, and how Alessi’s newly found faith has affected her work, and of course, the song they wish they wrote, a song by Dawes. Alessi’s Ark have released four albums to date, the first, ‘Notes From The Treehouse’ in 2009, through to the most recent 2017’s 'Love Is The Currency'. Alessi’s most recent release is the six track 'Truth EP', was released earlier this year.     In our first episode we talk to Sam Brookes (https://www.sambrookes.com). During our conversation, Sam talked about his music, his approach to songwriting and his relationship through music, with his Dad, who is sadly no longer with us; and of course he played us his version of his chosen song by Willy Mason (http://willymasonmusic.com). Sam is one of the UK’s leading alt-folk artists with over 20 million streams on Spoifty. Sam has released two albums to date; his first in 2011, followed by his second, Kairos in 2014. The last six years has seen a few singles and last year’s revisiting of some of the songs from Kairos for the Tempus EP, which he recorded with BAFTA winner composer and musician, Laurence Love Greed.
