French Blabla

I have lived in France for 4 years and I wish someone told me about this podcast before I came here. It would have made my life so much easier in the early days. Now, it’s a useful refresher and explains some of the language I have simply picked-up from natives and repeated. Well played, Caroline!

The content is good, particularly episodes on alternative ways to say common things so that you aren’t overusing the same words. However the host does sound like she learnt English from endlessly rewatching Mary Poppins or Downton Abbey - I’ve never heard a non-native English speaker trying so hard to replicate the poshest English accent imaginable. She also spews so many English idiomatic sayings with the cumulative effect being just a bit showy for my liking.

This podcast is one the best French podcasts I’ve come across, if not the best. I feel that it’s my my learning experience much better and I’d indeed recommend it to anyone who wants to learn French in a fun and easy way from a French native.

Interesting and helpful in learning French, but I’m often put off by the patronising ‘don’t do this’ or ‘don’t do that’ titles for each show
