New episode is just an advert for the ID buzz. I’m sure everyone who listens to podcasts will be thrilled that the YouTube culture of advert episodes is coming to podcasts.. How much money do you need? *fair’s fair. They’ve reduced it to one ad read at the beginning/end and only one small ad in the middle now so it’s on par with other podcasts again. Thanks to whoever reads these and the production team for taking it on board. 5 stars again* Bit torn on this one. They’re very funny, lovely people and seem genuine. The honesty is great and it’s a really good podcast. But… Too many ad reads. No one minds having ads or begrudges them making money but a block of 8 minutes of ad reads in the middle (bad production choice I think, no other podcast I’ve listened to has that many in a row) and four minutes of standard ads and the start/end means that of a 43 minute pod (absolute beefer ep 1) 16 minutes are adverts. That’s a ratio of 62% content to 38% ads and it’s too much for me. I will still listen as I think it’s a production decision, not from the hosts, so hopefully they’ll see sense and either extend the podcast, without adding more ads, or put just one sponsor ad read in at the start/end. I think producers often forget that people binge listen so it gets very annoying quite quickly hearing the same ads over and over again. They split the episodes already, to make more ad revenue so hammering 16 mins of ads into a 43 minute pod is just a bit much.
