Today’s guest is Caylee Grey from GetMessyart.com. Caylee is a South African artist living in Germany. We really wanted to have Caylee on the podcast as her mission is close to our hearts, to encourage people to have a regular creative practice. Caylee has a fascinating story of how she started art journaling as a challenge she set herself which then turned into her full-time business. She teaches others how to journal and most of all to love the process of creating art.  Her mission is to empower 10 000 people into a regular creative practice.

Ep 60 Creating Themes for your Sketchbooks

Ep 60 Creating Themes for your Sketchbooks

Today’s episode is all about creating themes for your sketchbooks.
But why would you want a theme for your sketchbook?
It can really help with indecision, having a theme can prevent that feeling of not knowing what you are going to draw. But if you are worried you will get bored with just one theme, you could have several sketchbooks on the go, each on different theme.
For example you could have one for doodles, landscapes, portraits, cartoons, challenges etc. Then just pick up the one that you feel like doing the most.

Favourite podcast.

I'm really sad. Over the past couple of months I've binge listened to all 46 episodes which now means I'm going to have to wait 2 whole weeks for each one!
How will I cope? What will I listen to now? How will I do my housework without Sandra and Tara to keep me entertained?
It's a problem!
In all seriousness though, I love this podcast. Sandra and Tara are a delight to listen to, informative and often hilarious they are the perfect double act to bChronicles Of Narnia #inktober2019 day 24 'dizzy'. ring art inspiratiI'm really sad. Their interviews with various artists from different fields are are always extremely interesting, but my favourite episodes are when it's just Sandra and Tara having a chat about art, what they've been up to and whatever the theme for that week is.
If you are at all interested in doing art in whatever form I'd highly recommend this podcast, both to the hobby and professional artist.
Like I said, I love it. Maybe I'll just have to start again from the beginning! 😂on hints and tips to all who listen.
