Bank Holiday Special: Slick Willie
Here at Murder They Wrote, we think there’s no better way to celebrate the bank holiday than hearing about some good old fashioned bank robberies. This week, Laura dives deep into the case file of one of history’s most prolific bank robbers – a man who earned himself a spot on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. Expect high-stakes heists, unbelievable prison escapes – and a lot of laughter from Iain when he learns that the criminal in question is called Willie.

S1.25: The Sally Salisbury Stabbing
This week, Laura tracks the rise and (spectacularly dramatic) fall of a famous 18th-century courtesan. Sally Salisbury’s client list runs the gamut of London’s rich and famous (think secretaries of state, future kings, and so on). In other words, she’s living the high life. That is until one fateful night in December 1721 when she flies into a jealous rage over one of her lovers – and stabs him in the chest.

Long flight ahead
Started listening on a long flight from Ireland to Australia… class!
Awful
This is a truly awful way to tell sad but compelling tales of criminal acts. Of course it’s disrespectful but somehow the lighthearted touch makes time pass even more slowly. The worse culprit is Iain who sadly genuinely believes he’s funny as he cracks schoolboy jokes around other people’s misfortune. I suspect it could be quite good if the only adult in the room, Laura, was on her own.
Awful - so disrespectful
Pure tripe. Also shame on the BBC - so disrespectful it’s hard to believe these two are being given the green light on this
